Tia Mowry updates fans on the distance from sister Tamera. After recently discussing wishing she was closer to her sister, she tells fans what has caused the distance.

Tia Mowry’s Performances

Tia Mowry is a famous actress. She rose to fame due to her role with her twin sister, Tamera in the 90s sitcom Sister, Sister. Additionally, the two starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie, Twitches. Also, the twins had a reality TV show together as well, Tia & Tamera.

Tia was also on the series The Game, Instant Mom, and Family Reunion. Now, she is going back to her reality TV show roots and is beginning, Tia Mowry: My Next Act which airs October 4th on WeTV.

The German actress was married to Cory Hardrict in 2008, but they ended their relationship in 2023. They have two kids 13-year-old, Cree and 6-year-old Cairo. Tamera also has a family of her own which certainly keeps the two busy on top of their careers.

Moving To Her Next Act

In discussing with PEOPLE why she chose to do the new reality series, she noted, “For me, it’s never been about fame for me. It’s been about inspiring, encouraging, and really having some purpose.”

Additionally, she expressed that she, “decided to do this show mainly because as I was going through this transition in my life, I felt very alone. I didn’t see any representation when it came to women being vulnerable and open about this process and this journey. And I didn’t want anyone to feel alone and the way I felt.”

In the trailer for the show, there was a seemingly emotional scene where Tia expressed that she wanted her and Tamera to go back to being close. Furthermore, she wants them to be able to contact each other when they need anything.

Discussing how she felt recording the scene, the actress remarked, “I’m just wanting a hug, you know what I mean? That’s what I’m referring to.” Fans, of course, began guessing what had caused the distance. Now, Tia has revealed the truth.

The Separation Of Sisters

Tia Mowry is giving an update to the fans wondering what happened to the Sister Sister duo. It’s clear things change with age, especially closeness to the family someone used to live with and spend time with.

Mowry expressed,  “You start as siblings in a household and a family, and as we grow up and start our own families, it is very normal for all of us to take on new roles and responsibilities when it comes to our life.”

Additionally, she explained, “My sister has a family of her own…I guess what I’m saying is it’s normal. It’s very natural for us to create lives for ourselves.” This doesn’t seem to make it any easier or reassuring.

Though, Mowry communicated that, “There’s so much love there.” Moreover, she revealed “There’s this beautiful bonding connection that we have that will never leave. My sister and I have always been women of inspiration, and we will continue to. And why would that change now?”

The actress added, “I think we’ve shown who we are as people and our integrity.” Though it is certainly difficult, the fact that they’re not as close, “It’s just a part of life.”

Finally, the Family Reunion star discloses, “People have started to create their own families. It is what it is and that’s okay. There’s no hard feelings.” It seems the duo will not be working to make their relationship closer and it’s just something Mowry is accepting.
