’The Voice’ Gwen Uses Blake Shelton To Snag Singer, Backfires Big Time
The Voice is back with Season 26, and recently, Gwen Stefani played one of her strongest trump cards to try and get one singer to her team. However, it backfired in epic fashion. So, what happened with this situation, and how did it resolve?
The Voice Is Back With Season 26
As longtime fans of the show will be happy to know, The Voice recently returned to kick off Season 26 of the show. Gwen Stefani is back in the chair, along with fellow judges Reba McEntire, Michael Buble, and Snoop Dogg. With the blind auditions underway, there have already been some captivating singers early on into the competition.
During the blind auditions on The Voice is the ideal time for viewers to get to know this batch of participants. Now is the time to feel out the competition and pick favorites. Of course, even the judges already have their favorites, as they battle it out to convince these singers to join their teams.
Gwen Stefani Plays The Ace Up Her Sleeve To Try And Land Standout Singer
Early on into the blind auditions, Gwen Stefani has already added some stellar talent to her team. In addition to meeting and hearing all of the new contestants, one of the fun aspects of watching The Voice is tuning in to see the judges compete for the contestants they want most to join their squads.
Recently, the judges were smitten with Tanner Frick. He wowed the panel with his rendition of Morgan Wallen’s Thought You Should Know. This instantly caught Gwen Stefani’s ear, and she was willing to play one of her biggest cards to add Frick to her roster.
The way Gwen Stefani tried to finesse it on The Voice, she used the fact that she is married to Blake Shelton in an effort to sweeten the pot and make Tanner Frick join her team. While Gwen certainly made a strong case, another judge swooped in and secured the bag.
The Voice: Reba McEntire Swoops In And Steals Tanner Frick
While Gwen tried to use her marriage to Blake Shelton to convince Tanner Frick to join her team, Reba McEntire did not have to do anything like that. Reba is country royalty. So, for any aspiring country singers on The Voice Season 26, Reba is easily a no-brainer choice.

Despite Gwen Stefani’s best effort and attempt at persuasion to join her team, Tanner ultimately went with the queen of country herself, Reba. While Gwen may be bitter about losing out on a great singer to Reba, the vast majority of The Voice viewers agree that he made the right choice, especially if country is the way he wants to go.
