Woman Who Murdered Her Children Was On ‘Wheel Of Fortune’
When you have a game like Wheel Of Fortune, which has been on the air for decades, you get countless contestants coming through to compete on the show. It turns out, one former contestant ended up murdering her children. So, what do we know about this gruesome true crime scenario tied to the popular game show?
Wheel Of Fortune: Many Contestants Have Appeared On The Game Show
When it comes to long-running game shows like Wheel Of Fortune, The Price Is Right, Jeopardy!, and more, they feature countless contestants over the years. When all of these shows have been on for decades, that is a lot of participants to feature as well.
One contestant who ended up on Wheel Of Fortune was Lori Vallow, a woman who eventually murdered two of her children. Often, when people think of shows like this, they don’t think that one of the contestants would eventually commit an act this brutal, but, in this case with Vallow, that certainly was the case.
Child Murderer Lori Vallow Appeared On Popular Game Show
Lori Vallow was a former beauty queen. While married to her third husband, Joseph Ryan, Vallow was also a contestant in the Mrs. Texas Beauty Pageant. She was asked previously about her thoughts on motherhood and of being a mother herself. At that time, she said: “Being a good mom is very important to me.”
Later on, she would go on to murder two of her children. So, these words are even more chilling on account of what this Wheel Of Fortune contestant and beauty pageant participant eventually did. She competed on the popular game show in 2004, in the show’s 21st season.
Lori Vallow eventually met a man named Chad Daybell in 2018. The pair believed that they were “chosen” to survive armageddon. It’s alleged that Daybell convinced Vallow that her children had “dark” spirits and needed to die.
Eventually, the bodies of Vallow’s seven-year-old son and sixteen-year-old daughter were found. In May 2023, Lori Vallow was convicted of the murders of her children, as well as conspiring to murder Chad’s first wife, Tammy Daybell. Vallow was sentenced to three consecutive life sentences, while Chad is on death row.

Of course, noticing someone like Lori Vallow on a show like Wheel Of Fortune tends to happen after someone like her does something gruesome like this to make it into the headlines. Knowing what viewers know now, many people have gone back since to watch her episode.
It turns out, while competing on her episode of the show, Lori Vallow ended up going home with $17,500 in cash winnings and a Kenneth Cole gift card.
Of course, given what she eventually did, it makes going back to watch her original Wheel Of Fortune episode extra eerie, and also something that a lot of true crime enthusiasts have gone back and done following what she eventually did.
