‘Brady Bunch’ Star Barry Williams On Shocking Hook-Up Claims
The Brady Bunch is one of the most classically wholesome shows on television. But according to actor Barry Williams, there was quite a bit of scandal going on behind the scenes.
In a new interview, the actor who played Greg Brady dove into the love lives of his costars. While they portrayed one big happy family on television, there was a lot of canoodling happening.
Barry Williams Admits He & TV Siblings All Dated Each Other
While filming a television or movie, it’s not at all uncommon for the actors to grow incredibly close. After all, they spend several hours a day in close proximity. Sometimes, romances bloom.
But on the set of The Brady Bunch, it seems that all the child actors were romantically connected at one point or another.
“We all hooked up with each other at some point,” former child star Barry Williams shared with Us Weekly. “Not necessarily while we were filming.”
“I dated Maureen [McCormick], and Chris [Knight] dated Eve [Plum] and Michael [Lookinland] and Susan [Olsen] had a little mock wedding at one point. So, yes, we all hooked up,” Barry continued.
While these relationships were age-appropriate, Barry Williams did confess he crushed on actress Florence Henderson while filming The Brady Bunch. She played his mother, Carol Brady.
The Actor Shared A Kiss With His TV Mom
Although there was a 20-year age gap between Barry Williams and Florence Henderson, he decided to ask her out anyway.
“I had a teenage crush on her, for sure. And she’s got a very lively personality and great sense of humor, but I knew that I wanted to have music in my career [in] acting, and so I talked to her a lot about that,” the DWTS alum continued. “I had found this singer coming into the Copacabana near Beverly Hills. I can’t think of exactly where it was, but I invited her to go together as a date, and she said, ‘OK,’ so I was thrilled. And now for me, it was a date.”
Barry said they were definitely getting attention and stares. Seeing the pair out in public in a romantic setting was likely very bizarre for The Brady Bunch fans.
“I did go in for a little kiss and and, and she was nice enough to return it,” the actor shared. “So it was a highlight. Nice little peck, yes.”
