Why ABC Might Regret Firing Amy Robach And TJ Holmes

The tea was piping hot when Amy Robach and TJ Holmes’s relationship went public. From an outsider’s perspective, it looked like the former ABC news anchors got exposed for an illicit affair. That’s because they were both married to other people when details of their affair started making headlines. As a consequence, ABC axed them from the network. ABC arguably simply didn’t know how to address such a scandal at the time. However, it now seems that the beloved news channel might regret the decision they made to get rid of Amy and TJ. Here’s why.

ABC Isn’t In A Good Spot At The Moment

When Amy and TJ served as morning news anchors, they generally got the job done fabulously. After their relationship was exposed, they attempted to convince the world they were already separated from their respective spouses before they started dating each other.

Even though they’ve maintained that narrative, plenty of fans hesitated to believe how true their story was. Ironically the spouses they divorced, Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig, are now dating each other. That little detail adds an interesting twist to this whole ordeal. A source told InTouch:

The word coming out of the network is that they made a huge mistake letting TJ and Amy go, who are feeling pretty vindicated and saying it’s karma biting their former bosses in the butt. After all, TJ and Amy had star power, and the network has found no worthy replacements. That just puts more pressure on the other anchors like Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos, who work hard enough as it is. TJ and Amy are following all the drama very closely and debating who’s going to quit or be let go next.”

Since Amy and TJ’s exes have moved on with each other, does that soften the blow of the alleged affair Amy and TJ struck up with each other? Does Amy and TJ insisting there wasn’t marital overlap have any impact on the way they’re currently perceived by ABC? Time will tell if ABC decides to reach back out to the former anchors and offer them their jobs back.

What have TJ and Amy been up to since getting fired, though? The highly talked about couple has their own podcast on iHeartPodcasts called Amy & TJ. They update the podcast weekly, and it currently has 4.4 out of five stars from listeners. Some of the topics they’ve recently covered include former President Trump’s reception, Diddy’s lawsuit, Elon Musk’s legal troubles, VP Kamala Harris‘s views on gun ownership, and more. They also have a show called Morning Run where they cover news in the entertainment and lifestyle realms.

  1. I stopped watching ABC News on the day they announced Amy and TJ would not be back. To add insult to injury, Robin Roberts loudly sharing her opinion about the couple was so hypocritical – she lived with her partner without benefit of marriage long after same sex marriage was legalized. Who was she to spout moral indignance?? A poor spokesperson for ABC indeed. I left and don’t plan to look back. ABC management needs to pull up their pants. Their privilege is showing.

  2. I Quit Watching GMA too! They fired Rob Marciano- The Best Weather Man ever! They continued to use Him to cover the worst storms and weather then decided to fire Him and put that lousy Ginger as Chief Weatherman…No personality- Nothing! They need to fire the woman who is doing all this firing!!!

  3. Yes! Bring Amy and TJ back, NOW! I’ve gotten so bored with everyone, and those two definitely have the star power. They’re smart and engaging, it was a huge, knee jerk decision to fire them. It was disgusting the way ABC handled their departure. Two great assets were let go, now it’s time to make it right!
