When Hoda Kotb announced she was leaving The Today Show, it shocked everyone. It seems that Savannah is not taking this well. Here is what you need to know.

Savannah Guthrie Not Dealing Well WIth Hoda Kotb Departure

After Hoda Kotb announced that she was leaving The Today Show, one of her co-stars began to deal with it in a very worrisome manner. Hoda, 60, said she was leaving the morning talk show after 17 years to devote more time to her family. She will remain on the show until the start of 2025, though.

Hoda’s friends and colleagues discussed the news on air on Thursday. Al Roker mentioned that Hoda isn’t “going anywhere.” He reiterated that she was leaving the show but wouldn’t be going to another show after this. “She is staying with our NBC family,” he said.

Craig Melvin then mentioned that Savannah Guthrie was taking this news harder than anyone at the show. “No one is taking the news worse than Savannah Guthrie,” he said. “We should just show everyone the reality of what we are dealing with.”

The camera then switched to Savannah, who looked sad. She also had two plates of food in front of her and a large glass of rose wine. Savannah chewed on her food and then threw her hands up in a show of defeat.

“She is eating and drinking her feelings,” Al Roker said. As Savahhan began eating off Sheinelle Jones’ plate as well, Roker then joked that the bottle of wine was full before he almost emptied it, refilling Savannah’s glass.

While this moment was funny, Savannah Guthrie was one of the people that Hoda Kotb spoke with while making her decision. It is almost certain that she was supportive of her friend taking more time for her family.

“We love her so much. And, as you said Sheinelle, we’re going to hold our sorrow of missing her and loving her so much with our gratitude that it happened,” Savannah said in the episode.
