Keith Urban is an Australian American singer/songwriter and guitarist. The Grammy Award winner has been married to the well-known actress and producer, Nicole Kidman since 2006. The pair has two daughters together, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban and Faith Margret Kidman Urban.

Urban is Nicole Kidman’s second husband. She was previously married to Tom Cruise for 11 years from 1990 to 2001. The ex-couple adopted two children, Isabella Jane Cruise and Connor Cruise.

Unfortunately, she does not have a relationship with the children as they chose to live with their father. There is a discussion that the religion Cruise is a part of, Scientology is a big part of their split, and the lack of connection with the children.

Kidman is best known for her roles in Big Little Lies, The Perfect Couple, and A Family Affair. She recently won an award for her film Babygirl at the Venice Film Festival. However, the star had to leave when she learned some tragic news.

A Tragic Loss

Kidman left the Venice Film Festival due to finding out that her mother, Janelle Ann Kidman had passed away at 84. Furthermore, the director of Babygirl, Halina Rejn accepted the Best Actress award after Nicole left. Rejn also shared a message from Nicole.

Reading Kidman’s speech, Rejn remarked, “Today, I arrived in Venice to find out shortly after that my beautiful, brave mother Janelle Ann Kidman has just passed.” Additionally, she added, “I am in shock and I have to go to my family.”

Kidman dedicates the award to her mother in the September 7th speech saying, “But this award is for her. She shaped me, she guided me and she made me. I’m beyond grateful that I get to say her name to all of you through Halina. The collision of life and art is heartbreaking, and my heart is broken.”

It has not been reported why Janelle passed. However, she wasn’t in the best condition health-wise which was known. Additionally, Kidman went to Australia to aid her mother in 2022. Soon after the news was broadcast, Kidman and her sister Antonia issued a message to thank fans for their support.

On September 12th their message said, “My sister and I along with our family want to thank you for the outpouring of love and kindness we have felt this week.” Additionally, they shared, “Every message we have received from those who loved and admired our Mother meant more to us than we will ever be able to express.”

Then, the actress and film producer ended the message with her sister, “Thank you from our whole family for respecting our privacy as we take care of each other.”

On Sunday, September 22nd, at the iHeart Radio Music Festival, Keith Urban expressed to E! News how he, Nicole Kidman, and their family are coping with the recent death. After the family asked for privacy, Urban was able to share how things were progressing.

The musician stated, “We’re getting through it.” The Kidman-Urban family is struggling as it is difficult to deal with a family loss. Thankfully, fans have shown support.

Additionally, he expressed what the death has done for the family. He said it “brings the family tight together.” Urban is very grateful for the gratitude shown by fans. Furthermore, he expressed, “She feels it. Thank you.”
