She wrote, “@briantyreehenry decided I needed help as I was hobbling around on a bad toe..he’s a good sport, and I’m a lot to carry.”

Some fans thought that the toe injury was why Gayle was wearing two different shoes. Others thought that she should just go with two comfortable shoes. They swept into the comments to chat about her shoe choices and ask some questions.

Gayle King has been wearing two different shoes for at least two years now, if not longer. She admitted to Tyler Perry why she wore one clog and one heel when she was at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2022. “I have this thing called Achilles tendonitis, so it’s all good” (via People).

She then said that she won’t wear both clogs. “I don’t want people thinking I’m wearing these clogs just because. There’s a reason,” Gayle said. While she has to wear the clog on one foot, she doesn’t want people to think she is just dressing down for no reason.
