Michael Buble Shares Details About Son’s Rare Disease
Michael Bublé recently shared details about his son’s rare disease. After his family’s life changed with a single diagnosis, Bublé seems ready to discuss the hardship.
It’s Not Christmas Without Michael Bublé
Michael Bublé is a well-known Canadian singer/songwriter best known for his Christmas songs. However, he also has well-known pop songs like ‘Sway’ and ‘Feeling Good.’
Bublé is also going to be a judge on the upcoming season of The Voice. Fans were surprised by his blossoming friendship with one of his fellow judges.
Furthermore, Bublé married actress and model, Luisana Lopilato. The two have four children together: Noah, Elias, Vida, and Cielo. Despite his lovely family and successful career, Bublé has had some challenges.
The Christmas and pop singer shared his private, self-diagnosis with ADHD in a recent interview. He expressed how he was able to see and identify the signs of ADHD and the influence it has had on his music, performances, and lifestyle.
Though he does not have an official diagnosis from a medical professional, once he was able to fully learn about the mental illness, he was able to confirm his lifestyle as being affected by ADHD.
Moreover, The Voice coach said, “I’ve just been a bit all over the place. I realized I’ve had this my whole life, I just never put a name to it.” He is unable to focus for more than a short time, is always energetic, and keeps himself busy.
Additionally, Bublé revealed, “I used to think there was something wrong with me, but knowing it’s ADHD makes a lot more sense now.” The coach does not see his illness as a negative. He believes, “It’s part of what makes me who I am. I have this endless energy that I channel into my music and performances.”
Son’s Rare Condition
Bublé isn’t the only member of his family with an illness. In addition to sharing about himself, Bublé shared about his son’s medical battle and the toll it took on him and his family.
Michael Bublé’s son, Noah was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma when he was just three years old. This was an extremely rare type of liver cancer that usually infects babies before they turn three. The family was caught off guard and it changed everything.
Noah was forced to face treatments no child should have to go through such as chemotherapy and intense surgery to get rid of the tumor. To be there for their son and support him through this difficult time, Bublé and his wife took a break from their careers.
Furthermore, Bublé canceled all the music-based events he had planned like his releases and tours. The family did not share much about the situation and only did so when Noah was going through remission after experiencing the difficult treatments.
Additionally, the ‘Sway’ singer expressed how his view on things changed after the experience. He saw life, love, and family in a new light saying, “That, of course, changed me in a big way – it changed what mattered to me, it changed how I saw life.”
Moreover, he shared how he’d, “become the superhero I always wanted to be. Then my wife and I went through this unthinkable thing and I lost the alter ego.” The judge has loved being a father as it changed everything for him.
Moreover, family is his priority and will do whatever it takes to be with his family more, even stepping back in certain ways from his career. He has expressed the love and happiness that his children provide for him and how they keep him balanced.
