Kate Flannery Calls Out ‘DWTS’ Contestant Anna Delvey

Anna Delvey is officially a contestant on Season 33 of Dancing With The Stars. And, one former star of the show is not fond of the shocking cast decision.

Kate Flannery Speaks Out Against Anna Delvey

Kate Flannery, who competed in Season 28 of DWTS, recently spoke about how she feels about Anna joining the show. And she is not a fan, to say the very least.

“We don’t need that vibe. She’s not a dancer. We can do better than that,” The Office actress snapped.

Flannery went on to say that choosing her might end in the show taking a viewership hit. “If they’re looking to get more people to watch the show, I don’t think that’s the way to go,” she said.

Anna hasn’t publicly addressed Kate’s comments as of yet. She did call out The View stars for their negative comments toward her new dance role. They eventually issued an apology to her.

DWTS Fans Not Fond Of Anna

Kate isn’t the only person who is against Anna being a part of the Season 33 cast.

In fact, as soon as it was announced that she had joined the lineup, most DWTS fans became instantly furious.

In a Reddit thread, fans called out ABC for choosing Delvey to be a performer in the season. And like Kate predicted, some aren’t tuning in to watch because of it. Here are a few of the comments:

• “Let’s be better than that America! Boycott DWTS this season.”
• “It’s poor judgement to honor her with a position as this. Great example guys.”
• “I’m disgusted by this pick!!!”

ABC hasn’t responded to the public criticism yet.

Anna’s Criminal History

Most of the time the contestants who appear on DWTS are well-known in the entertainment industry. From actors to singers to athletes, the lineup always features popular celebrities. And while Anna Delvey is very popular, it’s not for a reason you’d think.

Delvey is infamous for being a con artist, scamming people out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. She also became notorious for not caring about committing the crimes.

“I’d be lying to you and to everyone else and to myself if I said I was sorry for anything,” she said during her trial.

Anna served several years in prison before being bonded out and put under house arrest in 2022. She was given permission to leave home and star in DWTS with one condition: Delvey must wear an ankle monitor the entire time.

She performed with the monitor on in the premiere and received one of the lowest scores of the night.
