As fans anticipate new episodes of Yellowstone finally returning to their screens, they also mourn the end of the Dutton family’s story. Last spring, Taylor Sheridan announced his Paramount mega-hit would end with the conclusion of Season 5B. But is it really the end? Fan-favorite Cole Hauser recently opened up about the rumors that the series might continue.

Yellowstone Season 5B Will Not Include Kevin Costner

Kevin Costner’s John Dutton has been at the center of Yellowstone since the series premiered in 2018. However, following the strikes in Hollywood, he and Taylor could not agree on a filming schedule.

Kevin wanted to focus on his passion project, Horizon.

Taylor had no control over filming the second half of Season 5, which was pushed back due to the strikes.

There were also rumors of a possible feud. But regardless of what truly happened, Kevin announced he would not be in the show’s concluding episodes. Taylor also revealed that Season 5B would wrap up the tale of the Dutton Ranch.

Yellowstone Season 6 Rumors Begin To Circulate

As the premiere of 5B gets closer, new reports claim that stars Cole (Rip Wheeler) and Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton) are in talks to continue the Dutton family’s saga with a sixth season of the show.

Kelly was the first to comment, saying, “There’s potentially another chapter.”

Before clarifying, “Yellowstone, as we know it is ending.”

Now, her onscreen husband is giving his side.

“I don’t make the decisions, brother — I’m a hired gun. Would I like a spinoff? Yeah. It’s been a pleasure working with this cast, with Taylor Sheridan; why would we stop a good thing? Yeah, pen it, and let’s do it,” he told Cigar Aficionado in a new interview.

Fans are absolutely passionate about John Dutton’s insanely loyal daughter and his branded right-hand man. Cole has been very open about how much he loves his character and the show.

“I have the greatest office in the world. I’ve been saying that for seven years. I get to go out in nature, ride a horse, chase cows, cut rope, rein at times…it’s a very special role. At the same time too, I kind of kick myself, remind myself, this is about as good as it gets.”

From the sound of it, there is some hope for another season…if Beth and Rip both survive Season 5B.

Fans can watch previous seasons of Yellowstone on Peacock. All other shows in the Sheridanverse can be viewed on Paramount+

Yellowstone Season 5B premieres November 10 on Paramount Network.
