There are a lot of changes happening on Big Brother this season. Julie Chen Moonves missed her first live eviction in the show’s history last week. Now, Dr. Will Kirby has confirmed that he is stepping away from his duties hosting the jury roundtable. He released a statement discussing why he’s made this decision. Keep reading to see what he said.

Dr. Will Kirby Won’t Be Hosting The Jury Roundtable This Season

Big Brother fans are very familiar with Dr. Will Kirby. He was the winner of BB Season and he has also hosted the jury roundtable for the reality show on and off for more than 10 years. Now, he has announced he is stepping back from the show entirely.

Will is a celebrity dermatologist who has a successful career outside of the show. Now that the jury portion of BB 26 has started, Quinn Martin is the first person on the jury. However, the roundtable won’t look the same this season without Dr. Will Kirby.

“I can confirm that I will not be serving as the Big Brother jury roundtable host this season,” he said in a statement to Parade. “It’s simply time to hang up the proverbial cleats. The run I’ve had on the show, first as a contestant and then as a host, is practically unheard of but nothing last forever; I am ready to pass the reality television baton!”

How Does The Big Brother Jury Roundtable Work?

As fans know, the jury roundtable is a taped segment that is shown during the finale. All of the evicted houseguests sit down and talk about who they think should bring home the $750,000 grand prize.

The group consists of the final seven houseguests, not including the last two. These individuals are sequestered to a vacation house where they have no access to the game, the show, or the Live Feeds. There are people in the house that stop them from talking about the game at all.

As each new person joins the jury, they bring in a film of the nomination and veto ceremonies for the week. Then, during the season finale, each person still in the game gets to go around the table and talk about their gameplay, with jurors asking one question each.

Dr. Will Kirby first started hosting the jury roundtable in 2013 during Season 15 of Big Brother. He continued to host this segment on and off until Season 25, which aired last summer. The jurors went without a host in Seasons 22 and 23 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Otherwise, he’s been along for the ride.

CBS has not made any announcement about Will’s departure or who will be taking his place at the roundtable. It is possible that they’ll bring back a Big Brother fan favorite to replace him.

Big Brother airs on Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday on CBS. Previous episodes and Live Feeds can be found on Paramount+.
