Hallmark Viewers Are Obsessed With Jodie Sweetin’s Wig

Ever since HMN, now Hallmark+ streaming site, and the Hallmark Channel have aired Corey Sevier and Jodie Sweetin’s latest romcom The Heiress And The Handyman, viewers have been obsessed with her wig. Normally, Jodie has straight hair that is just below her shoulders. However, in this movie, the wig was very full and curly, and in a color that was similar to her own natural blonde, but more vavavoom!

On Reddit, one poster asked, “Why?? Why does Jodie Sweetin wear a wig in The Heiress And The Handyman?? It is so distracting.” The responses seemed to be in agreement.

  • That one was bad. It was pulled so low it swelled up her face and made her. I think anyone can 100% wear a wig and make it look so natural you don’t notice, but there was clearly a lack of expertise in that department for this film.
  • Bad hair happens to the Hallmark men sometimes too. Does anyone remember Kris Polaha’s hair in A Winning Team? That was distracting as well. I couldn’t figure out if it was bad styling or a hairpiece.
  • I think the wig was an attempt to distract viewers from the fact that Hallmark rolled out yet another poorly written film about a big city girl that inherits a farm and falls for a the neighbor.
  • This has been on my mind since I started seeing the commercials a few weeks ago.

This small sampling of comments has been typical of what viewers, podcasters, and others have said about the Full House alum’s wig in her recent Hallmark movie. What else did other viewers say?

There Were Even More Wig Comments & Theories

The comments about Jodie Sweetin’s wig in The Heiress And The Handyman continued. One poster even reminded fans of Candace Cameron Bure’s red-headed wigs used in the Aurora Teagarden Mystery series. They blamed the network for the bad wigs.

  • I love both of the main characters, but yeah I don’t get the wig. It’s awful and from what I know there’s no reason she would be wearing it.
  • This has been a practice at Hallmark and it’s hard to figure out why. CCB had some of the worst when she was still there.
  • I’m glad I’m not the only one bothered! The wig in her mystery movie was awful too. It’s like they bought the wig at Spirit, on sale.
  • I found it distracting as well. I could buy a better wig for $50 on Facebook Marketplace.
  • “Those Shoes! That wig” And that dress!!!” Airplane!
  • I couldn’t keep my attention on the story, so I stopped watching. I kept thinking Jodie Sweetin in a wig, why?

One detail that fans should note is that Jodie Sweetin is one of the executive producers of this movie. Fans could assume that she signed off on this wig. She has not publicly talked about it or responded to any of the comments on social media. But, perhaps she wanted this look for comedic reasons.

Hallmark fans, were you obsessed with Jodie Sweetin’s wig in her latest romcom? Did it distract you from watching the movie? Do you think this wig was for comedic reasons? Please share your comments below.

  1. Didn’t like the wig at all; and the outfits didn’t match her character of a very wealthy woman. I wear better clothes. The wigs on Hallmark needs to be addressed.

    1. Sooooo bad. It is sad that a talented actor felt the need to wear the equivalent of a really bad toupee. She is so lovely and I wish that she as the EP made a different choice. I had to stop the movie.

  2. I have seen several really bad wig placements in the Hallmark movies. I tuned in to see Jodie. I love her acting and watch every one of her movies. I wonder why they didn’t just color her real hair and add extensions? Makes no sense. I will continue to watch Jodie in everything. But Hallmark needs to address this wig thing.

  3. My sister. niece and I watched this tonight. We had a hard time getting thru this movie because of the poorly fitting wig that Jodi was wearin and weird style of heiress clothes.

  4. I have this movie recorded but just watching the preview, her wig makes my skin crawl. How do you not notice how BAD it looks? It’s come to a point where I think I’ll delete the recording and not watch it. Like a cheap independent film. Hallmark has the money to at least make her hair look good. Come on, Hallmark! 👎🏼

  5. She is adorable… but I found the wig distracting. It was just not a pretty, natural looking wig. I thought at first her own hair was full of hairspray.

  6. I can’t focus on the movie because I can’t stop staring at her wig. This horrible wig, takes away from her natural beauty! Why!?
