When you are cast in such a decade-defining show as Beverly Hills 90210 was, it almost guarantees that the show’s stars will have a career long after a show like that ends. However, as anyone can tell you, finding gold with one successful show can sometimes mean that’s all someone gets.
Luckily for Jennie Garth, she has been able to keep herself in the spotlight in the decades since Beverly Hills 90210 originally ended. While she never quite reached her original level of fame again, she has appeared in sitcoms, various guest spots, and movies since. So, she managed to carve out a solid career for herself in those years since she first made it big.
Garth Opens Up About Drastic Surgeries And More
At 52 years old, Jennie Garth has racked up some considerable mileage. Just like with anyone, years can take a toll on your body. According to what Garth had to say recently, she has more than paid the price with a handful of surgeries to her name.
According to the actress, she has gone under the knife for two hip surgeries. It turns out, she had her first hip replacement at 48, and then she had another one at 52. According to what she had to say about it, she wanted to initially keep this news close to the vest, as she was “nervous” about going public with it. In total, she had surgery on each hip.
Jennie Garth Speaks Publicly About What She Went Through
Jennie Garth recently spoke to SELF about everything she has been dealing with in relation to her surgeries. Despite wanting to keep this information to herself for some time, it appears she felt now was the time to come clean about everything she has had on her plate.
Garth said: “I’ve kept it a secret for so long, but I’m no longer at a place where I want to hide things. I had wished during my journey of the first surgery that I could share my experience with people because there’s such a stigma around getting any of your joints replaced. This is something that doesn’t just affect 80-year-olds.”

Garth wanted to speak out about her surgeries and things like aging. From her experience, she already seems to be encouraging a lot of people just from deciding to talk openly about everything she has been going through.
Jennie Garth added: “There are some scary and disappointing changes, like when you start to see and feel aging, but don’t be afraid of that. It’s a part of who you are moving forward.”
