Ready For A ‘Dallas’ Southfork Ranch Holiday Movie? Linda Gray Is EP For Potential Project
Linda Gray wants to transform Southfork Ranch and produce a holiday movie for Dallas fans. The actress who played Sue Ellen Ewing is executive producing a holiday movie that will give her one more chance to revisit this special place. Most of all, she wants to also star in this movie along with one of her former castmates.
Here are all the details.
Linda Gray Is Executive Producer Of Dallas-Inspired Holiday Movie
On Friday, Michael Fairman TV reported that “Dallas star Linda Gray signs on as executive producer of a proposed holiday-themed TV movie to shoot at Southfork.” The insider reports that Gray wants to return to Southfork to film a movie “with a major twist.” Describing this as a love letter” to the fans of the evening soap, this is a “lighthearted Christmas comedy.”
Co-starring with her would “potentially” be Patrick Duffy, who portrayed Bobby Ewing. Both would act in this movie. However, the stars would be younger actors. They would be in this movie in supporting roles.
Most of all, Southfork Ranch would be all decked out for Christmas. Surprisingly, this never happened throughout the history of the Dallas series. This detail makes it even more special. Perhaps she was inspired by her Lifetime movie Ladies Of The 80s: A Diva’s Christmas?

This Holiday Movie Has Hallmark DNA
What is this Dallas-themed holiday movie about? Firstly, it has some Hallmark DNA. Former Home & Family producer William Keck wrote the script. Inspired by the classic 1937 movie Topper where Cary Grant and Constance Bennett play “glamorous matchmaking ghosts.”
The idea for this movie would be that Linda Gray, and potentially Patrick Duffy would portray former costars. But, they are deceased and are ghosts of this incredible property. They are “steadfastly guarding their sacred homestead from a Taylor Swift-type pop princess who takes up residence to shoot a music video for her new holiday song. As part of their plan, the spirits plot to sabotage the young star’s budding romance with the ranch’s handsome caretaker.”
According to IMDb, this looks like this is William Keck’s first screenplay. However, he is also working on a book about reuniting classic movie casts including Dallas. Therefore, his profile may not include all of his writing experience.
Dallas Reboot Included Several Hallmark Stars
The Hallmark DNA doesn’t end with the new movie script. When TNT rebooted Dallas, it included a lot of stars familiar with Hallmark. This includes Jesse Metcalfe, Julie Gonzalo, Josh Henderson, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Brenda Strong, as well as Jordan Brewster, and the late Larry Hagman. The series ran between 2012 and abruptly ended in 2014 when Hagman died.
