What Is Hallmark’s Sweeter Than Chocolate About?
According to the Hallmark synopsis, Lucy Sweet (Mumford) owns a chocolate shop that is a “Valentine’s Day mecca.” It is well-known that her Cupid chocolates are pretty special. If you eat one on February 14, you will find true love.
Dean Chase (Jeannotte) is is a local television reporter. He does not believe in the magic of the Cupid chocolates. Therefore, he is determined to debunk the rumor. He is ready to dig for the truth. Dean will interview the people who found love after eating the Cupid chocolates.
At first, Lucy doesn’t want to participate in this research. However, she realizes she needs to be involved because this is about her business.
As they speak to couples, Dean and Lucy become closer. Both are single and have experienced broken hearts. But, Dean does not believe in the power of love, while Lucy still believes that it exists.
“However, being around Lucy forces Dean to wonder if his take on romance is completely wrong. When Dean’s boss gets excited by the developing story, she insists Dean do a live feed from the chocolate shop on Valentine’s Day while trying one of the infamous Cupid chocolates himself. Interest builds in what is being hyped as the truth about Lucy’s store. Meanwhile, one of Lucy’s happy couples ends in disaster, and Lucy begins to wonder if Dean hasn’t been right all along. Is she really misleading everyone with naïve faith? When the chocolatier is ready to wave the white flag and admit defeat, Dean comes to the rescue, convincing her that putting more love into the world is a good thing even if there might be some heartaches along the way.”
