‘Below Deck Down Under’ Jason Chambers Reveals Season 3 Fate

After a chaotic second season, the question lingered about whether or not Below Deck Down Under would be returning for a Season 3. And now, the question has finally been answered.

BDDU Is Moving Forward

Captain Jason Chambers just announced that Season 3 is officially in post-production, confirming that he will be returning as the person in charge.

“Season 3 has been filmed. I just know it’s in the edits at the moment, but it has been filmed and I can confirm that,” he revealed in an interview.

Chambers didn’t elaborate on any other details, like the cast and if fans can expect at least a trailer by the end of the year.

In Season 2, multiple cast members were let go, and the shows’ star Chief Stew Aesha Scott has went back to Below Deck Mediterranean. So, there’s really no telling whose going to be in this upcoming crew. Maybe former crew members from other Below Deck spin-offs will be joining him?

Major Change Made

Speaking of the second season, it is definitely a season that viewers will never forget. And not in a good way.

Two crew members, Luke Jones and Laura Bileskaline, were terminated for inappropriate conduct with their co-stars. They haven’t been back on Bravo since.

Moving forward, Jason explained that a major change has been put in place to hopefully stop those on-screen moments from happening.

“Now, for the next season, the policies and procedures weren’t just controlled by the production team itself,” Chambers shared. “They actually brought additional HR people to actually make sure that the black and white writing was understood by all.”

He didn’t confirm if the third season had moments of misconduct, but time will tell whether or not the HR change made a difference.

BDDU Fans Torn Over Captain Jason

Captain Jason confirming that he will be coming back to the show might actually deter fans from watching.

In a Reddit thread, fans shared their opinion on the reality star and it was split down the middle. Some people felt as though he is a fantastic leader and a refreshing member of the franchise.

“[He] is the best captain aside from Captain Glenn. He has the perfect mix of a solid helping hand and a no time for bulls–t,” one fan commented.

Another person agreed, saying, “I think he’s fabulous!”. But, others have made it clear that he’s not growing on them.

One fan said, “He’s a cool guy, but he’s awfully close to that micromanaging Sandy style that annoys me”. Another person chimed in with, “I can’t stand him either”.
