Tina Arnold Cites Reasons For Leaving ‘1000-Lb Best Friends’
Tina Arnold previously shared that she would no longer be part of 1000-Lb Best Friends. But now that the promo for Season 3 is out, she wants her fans to hear her side of the story.
Tina Arnold Opens Up About Her Unexpected Departure From TLC
After exiting 1000-Lb Best Friends, Tina Arnold hopes fans can see her point of view. It was a difficult decision, but ultimately the show’s values didn’t align with her own.
“I want to clarify that my departure from the show was not a decision I made lightly or entirely of my own volition, Tina Arnold stated in her lengthy Instagram post.
“Initially, I was assured that the show would focus on the journey of weight loss among four friends, not solely on weight loss surgery. This understanding was crucial in my decision to sign on for the first two seasons. However, for season three, the direction of the show changed significantly. I was informed that the focus would now be exclusively on weight loss surgery, and because I was not pursuing surgery, there was no longer a place for me on the show. I was told that if I were to consider surgery, we could discuss my continued involvement.”
Tina went on to say the production company told her they couldn’t force anyone to make medical decisions. However, she believes that if her medical decisions don’t align with the show’s goals, they’re being hypocritical. On top of that, the former TLC star believes she’s been making healthier decisions on her own away from the show.
“I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has been with me throughout this journey,” Tina concluded her post. “Your unwavering support has meant the world to me, and I hope you’ll continue to walk with me as I embark on continued changes and new challenges ahead. … Thank you for sticking by me. And now, I’d just like to move on from that part of my life.”
