‘Today’ Host Sheinelle Jones Defends Al Roker From Critics
Today’s Al Roker is one of the most beloved morning talk show hosts. However, some fans don’t buy into it, and some have accused him of “phoning it in” when he makes his morning show appearances. This is something many other Today hosts won’t listen to.
Sheinelle Jones is one of those who will always stand up for Al. She did so recently, and here is what she had to say about his critics.
Sheinelle Jones Defends Al Roker
Some Today fans think Al Roker just “phones it in” when he appears on the morning talk show. However, when she hears those comments, Sheinelle Jones refuses to hear anything about it. According to Jones, no one works harder than Al.
Sheinelle said that she will always stand behind Al Roker regarding the work he puts in.
“I would say most of the anchors here on the Today show, they have a good time and they’re fun and they’re smiling because they’ve done the work. You know what I mean?” Jones said. She then turned her attention to Al. She admitted that he knows ” forecast in and out. He knows the weather patterns. He also knows good television.”
Sheinelle said that he always shows up prepped for his interviews and can sit down and have a good time while talking to guests. She said this is because he is always completely prepared. After this, Shinnelle delivered her mic drop.
“So if anyone thinks that he just gets up there and just kind of phones it in, they couldn’t be further from the truth,” she said. “That man works his hiney off.”
Craig Melvin Has Also Recently Praised Al Roker
Craig Melvin has also recently opened up about how important Al Roker is to his career. The Today host said that when he joined the show, it was Al who welcomed him in and was there to answer any questions and offer him help when he needed it.
“It started, I was new to the show. And the Today Show is a very, it’s a delicate ecosystem. It’s been around for more than 70 years. It’s an American Institution,” Craig said.
It sounds like there could be fans who might want to dismiss how important Al Roker is on Today, but his co-hosts are not hearing any of it. “It’s not just here. You see him in commercials, you see him in movies, you see him in cartoons,” Sheinelle said. “I don’t know when he sleeps.”
