‘The Voice’ Coach Leaving After Not Finding ‘Groove’
The big allure of The Voice is bringing in big-name singers and having them mentor up-and-coming talent. The show has become so popular that it has versions worldwide. However, not all singers have made it work on the reality singing competition series. One of these singers seems to be a one-and-done after failing to find her groove.
Here is who might have not made it work on The Voice and what is next.
The Voice Possibly Losing Coach After One Season
The Voice airs in many countries, and each show has different coaches. The Voice in Australia is in its 13th season, and it premiered on August 19. The season had only one returning coach, Guy Sebastian. The other three were newcomers, and two of them should be familiar to American audiences.
LeAnn Rimes, Adam Lambert, and Kate Miller-Heidke joined the show. Lambert is a former American Idol contestant who has performed with Queen since then. Rimes is a country music superstar who was one of the top-selling artists of the 1990s. Miller-Heidke is an Australian pop singer with 17 ARIA Music Award nominations.
However, according to reports, Rimes might be a one-and-done.
“She could well be a ‘one and done’ coach,” said one TV insider (via Daily Mail). “So far, she has struggled to find her voice on the show, as her fellow coaches Guy Sebastian, Kate Miller-Heidke, and Adam Lambert banter with one another – and snap up the most talented contestants.”
Rimes and the three other new judges replaced Jessica Mauboy, Rita Ora, and Jason Derulo, who all left after the previous season.
Could LeAnn Rimes Find Success In Another Country On The Voice?
However, there is also the chance that LeAnn Rimes could find more success with a change of scenery. Another insider claimed that her appearance on The Voice Australia was a “dress rehearsal” that was supposed to lead to her arrival on the U.K. version of the series.
“The idea of being a coach in any country intimidated LeAnn a lot, and she said ‘yes’ with ‘a great deal of trepidation [to both shows],'” the source said. It seems that she wanted to try her hand in Australia before she agreed to move on to something bigger, such as the U.K. While a change in scenery could help, her struggles could have ended her opportunities, at least in her head.
Another problem with LeAnn Rimes is that she has struggled to get singers to choose her. The source said that many younger singers don’t even know who she is. Her last single to hit the Billboard Hot 100 was in 2007 (“Nothin’ Better To Do”).
