Ryan Seacrest Reveals Look At New ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Set
Ryan Seacrest takes over as the Wheel of Fortune host on September 9. With less than a week to go before the new season kicks off, fans anxiously await the new look. Ryan, for his part, has shared a look at the new set as the season prepares to move on after Pat Sajak’s departure.
Here is a look at the new Wheel of Fortune set as Ryan starts his run as host.
New Wheel of Fortune Set Unveiled For Fans
Ryan Seacrest is taking over as host of Wheel of Fortune this season. This week, Ryan and Vanna White have been promoting the new season. They showed up on CBS Sunday Morning and Good Morning America to discuss upcoming changes. During these, they unveiled the new set.
This new set looks like a mix between the 1970s and 1980s versions of Wheel of Fortune for a slightly retro look. However, there are also some fresh changes as well. The Wheel of Fortune logo that appeared behind contestants is now gone. Instead, there is an art-deco rendering of the iconic wheel.
Also, the board has changed. In addition to the new design around the board, Vanna White no longer has to tap the letters to turn them over. Instead, the new board detects White’s hand moving before the letter to light up the consonants and vowels.
The new set also has new lighting, additional space, and a lot of gold metal laminate.
Other Changes To Wheel Of Fortune
The biggest change to Wheel of Fortune this year is Ryan Seacrest taking over for Pat Sajak. The previous host was there for four decades, which means many fans weren’t even born when there was a different host on the hit game show.
There are rumors that Ryan Seacrest is under a lot of pressure this season regarding his role. The ratings last season were down, and Ryan is expected to help raise those numbers. If he doesn’t, there is a chance that the show could turn to Vanna White in the future.
However, Ryan said he does not feel that kind of pressure. “All I need to do is keep it moving,” Ryan said during the show’s promotion. “All we need to do is have fun every night. I think if that’s what happens, this show continues for a long time.”
Wheel of Fortune kickstarts its new era on Monday, September 9. Pat Sajak will also be back for one last Celebrity Wheel of Fortune run on Monday, October 14.
