‘American Pickers’ Mike Wolfe Reacts To Home Town Backlash
American Pickers star Mike Wolfe has faced some recent backlash from his hometown. He has renovated his home there and is doing a lot to fix it up. However, many people don’t like that he also bought other buildings around town. He has also been working on those and wants to help build up the town and bring more money to the people there.
However, not everyone is happy about it, and this is how Mike responds to criticism.
Mike Wolfe Faces Criticism In Home Town
Mike Wolfe is not the most popular person with everyone in his hometown. He bought his home there and has been renovating it, which isn’t the problem. However, he also bought some properties around town to renovate. Mike is trying to help build the town, but not everyone wants to see it grow.
The American Pickers star bought multiple properties in Columbia, Tennessee. This includes a building built in 1920. He also bought a Two-Lanes vacation rental and the Columbia Motor Alley bike shop in the same town. In addition to his own house, Mike has millions of dollars in properties in this small Tennessee town.
He is now working on renovating those properties, hoping to increase some business in the town. This would bring money to the town and help it thrive. However, some residents don’t want to see it grow and prefer that it doesn’t change.
“Its kind of interesting because a lot of people don’t want change and some people do, so we’re in that flux,” a source previously said about the renovations. “They are building a six-story condo with a restaurant. Next to that is going to be a car place. The town is changing rapidly.”
The project will cost about $93 million. Many people who live in the town are happy that Mike is helping improve Columbia.
Mike Wolfe Responds To Criticisms
Mike Wolfe seems to be taking the criticism in stride. He isn’t letting anything bother him and responds by showing what he has in the town. Mike posted a photo of him cruising around town in his 1959 Chevrolet El Camino in a recent Instagram Stories post.
Two-Lanes is, of course, one of the properties that he purchased to renovate. The 1959 Chevrolet El Camino has an average retail price of $42,400. This is only part of his extensive automobile collection. Mike owns several cars with a net worth of over $250,000. This includes his 1947 red Hudson truck. That vehicle is worth $85,000.
He also owned a 2022 Chief Bobber Dark Horse Indian Motorcycle and a 2019 Mercedes Wagon. They are worth $18,999 and $54,500 respectively.

Mike is doing a great job restoring buildings. 12 years ago I wouldn’t have lived there now I call. it home.
Mike has done a great job with buying and restoring buildings in Columbia. As a car guy, I have been enthusiastically involved in his Cars & Coffee Columbia show since I moved here in 19. If you can catch him, Mike is fun to talk with and a great defender of history and preservation!
