Gayle King Possibly Out At ‘CBS Mornings’?
Gayle King has been the face of CBS Mornings. However, there is recent news that it might be coming to an end. It seems that King is in contract negotiations with CBS to renew her contract for the show, and things are not going as smoothly as her fans might want.

The hosts of daytime talk shows are usually under contract for multiple years. However, it is rare to hear about the contract negotiations when those deals are coming to an end. That is because most contracts are renewed behind the scenes early, so nothing needs to be said.

This comes after CBS decided to let Norah O’Donnell go. The reports indicate her salary was too high for them to keep her on staff at the show. Norah was the co-anchor on CBS Mornings from 2012 to 2019. However, she still works for CBS as a CBS Overnight News anchor.
Gayle King worked for Good Morning America and then signed a deal to co-anchor CBS Mornings in 2012. In 2018, King was inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame. Gayle then extended her contract with CBS News in 2022. However, that is now coming to an end.
What Will Happen If Gayle King Leaves CBS Mornings?
According to the source, “With Norah out of the way, the spotlight has shifted to Gayle.” The source said that they have to decide if Gayle King is worth the money if she isn’t able to beat the competition in her time slot.

“If CBS renews her contract, they are basically saying they are fine paying millions to come in third behind Good Morning America and the Today show,” the source said.
For the week of August 19, Good Morning America averaged 2.574 million total viewers, which was up 8% in the demo compared to the previous week. No other morning talk show saw an increase. Today came in a close second to Good Morning America with 2.513 million viewers. The two shows also had high demo ratings.
However, Gayle King’s CBS Mornings only brought in 1.889 million total viewers for the week, a distant third.

I think she is good but Nora is more objective and respectful. I’d like to see Vladimir Duthiers is the best. We love him on CBS mornings. I miss Anthony Mason. My dream team would be Duthiers, Tony Dokoupil and Nora and/or Jericka Duncan.
I agree 100%. She’ll ask a guest a question, then before they can answer she’s throwing out more questions. She doesn’t try BUT DOES OVER TALK, guests and coworkers as if what she has to say is more important or funnier than what they’re saying. I’d watch the show more when she’s not on. She’s GOT TO GO! Other than for Oprah, I don’t get her popularity.

Let her go. We quit watching when she started. Arrogance and smugness and bias surrounds her in all she says. Never wanted her in that spot in the first place. At least Nora didn’t personalize every situation and story with her own opinions and preferences.
The only reason she is on the show in the first place is because of her friendship with Oprah! I stopped watching once Norah left the show. Time to move on Gayle.

Keep Gayle! she’s the reason I watch the show. Her personality is fun and real. She’s like the next door neighbor you spend hours on the porch talking to. I laugh while watching the show .It’s an important part of my day, hearing informative news as well as new interesting inventions. I don’t think she takes over. She’s confident and that’s an admirable quality.

News has nothing to do with being nice! Gayle asks the tough questions no-one else wants to ask. If they got rid of someone it needs to be Tony D who is like a DEER IN HEADLIGHTS! Vlad D makes everything sound nice and positive and NEWS IS NOT ALWAYS NICE OR POSITIVE! Gayle King doesn’t mind asking the tough questions, I LOVE THAT! She makes you cringe, and I LOVE THAT! I remember Gail way back when she was on the CBS evening News in Hartford Connecticut wfsb channel 3. so I have some kind of fondness for her but she does have that annoying habit of interrupting guests and crosstalking. if they could get her to work on that I would say keep her.
I like Gayle personally but, I do agree that her interview style is a bit “Oprah-ish” wirh the constant “over’talking”. Not sure she can overcome that. However, I believe as an ensemble cast they work. Nora may be a better interviewer, but would not fit in. Keep Gayle, but muzzle her a bit.

I like CBS Mornings. Gayle Tony Nate & Vlad is the shit. They are GREAT together & it’s not as much fun when they are all not together at the same time. It’s just not the same. I still watch though. They keep in informative yet fun & interesting. I wouldn’t watch as much if the team was changed. I only watch the CBS Morning Show. When Gayle has to be off for some reason or another, she’s greatly missed. Keep her!
Gayle appears to be unhumble, pompous and know it all. She interrupts co-hosts and guests and other ungracious motivations.
Additionally, I feel Nora would add dignity to the group that has dignity without Gayle. Ed Okeefe is extremely knowledgeable and dignified. Vlad is every persons consummate host. I like to watch facial expressions whenever he adds originality, happiness and draws full attention of the group.
I look for Gayle, Monday-Friday!!!!

I have never thought Gayle King was professional, very knowledgeable or classy enough to be in her current position at
CBS News Mornings. She interrupts guests and staff continually!! I also believe that CBS is showing favoritism
towards her, due to her long-term friendship with Oprah Winfrey. This is totally unfair and biased, since merit should
always be based on talent and performance. Please, CBS, do not renew her contract!!
Also, I would like to say that Norah O”Donnell is one of the most talented, experienced, and professional individuals
in the broadcasting industry! Norah has the calm manner, the professional attire and demeanor for any position in
the news world. CBS would be foolish not to arrange for her to be in a full-time, executive position at a high salary.

Gayle does over talk people, but she’s good, professional and very Unbias! Too early in the morning for someone to be stoic, and extremely calm. Wake me up with what’s going on in our world. Keep the team as is.
I enjoy Gayle since Nora left. Nora made it obvious she wanted a higher position with CBS. Gayle is fun. She uplifts the morning when most people are waking up. My only objection to Gayle is she takes TOO MUCH TIME OFF. If CBS wants better ratings the three Tony, Nate and Gayle must be there as a constant. Honestly, CBS must make it more of a business. Quit taking so much time off for the three.
Gayle needs to go. Bring In someone that doesn’t need to be the star and someone that just interviews.
Gayle, to me, doesn’t appear to have the journalistic stamina necessary to carry the CBS banner to where we expect it to be.
