Slipknot’s Sid Wilson Hospitalized With Serious Injuries, Is He OK?
Slipknot’s Sid Wilson is currently in the hospital after he was caught in a bonfire “explosion.” He is being treated for serious burns on his face and arms. The musician took to Instagram to update his fans on his condition. Here is what he had to say, plus his girlfriend Kelly Osbourne‘s reaction to his injuries.
Sid Wilson Says He’ll Be ‘OK’
Sid Wilson was on his farm in Iowa enjoying a bonfire when the incident occurred. He updated fans on his condition from a hospital bed, assuring everyone that he’d be “OK.”
In the video he shared on Instagram, medical staff could be seen treating burn wounds on his face and arms. The Slipknot turntablist addressed fans, “Hi everybody, I had an explosion in my face. I’m OK, I’m going to be OK. But I did have some serious burns to my face and my arms.”
He also revealed that he was waiting to get his chest x-rayed to make sure he didn’t inhale any flames from the explosion. The clip showed his singed-off eyebrows and mustache. He also appeared to have blisters on his mouth and arms.
Considering his fans, he said, “I’m going to be all right you guys. I don’t care what it takes, I will see you on tour.”
In a follow-up video on Instagram, he told his fans that he was “pretty good” and felt that he was in “good hands.” He was being transported to a specialist facility.
Kelly Osbourne Warns Fans About Dangers Of Burn Piles
Apparently, Sid Wilson sustained his injuries from the remains of a bonfire that he’d burned the night before. When he went to move the bonfire pile around, it exploded in his face.
The Slipknot star received a flood of well wishes in the comments. “Damn brother, that looks painful,” commented Shavo Odadjian, the bassist from System of a Down. “Hope you heal quickly. We’re out here sending you positive thoughts.”
Other rock stars such as Jonathan Davis and Brian Welch, both from Korn, commented with their positive thoughts. DJ Premier also graced the comment section with his well wishes.
His girlfriend, Kelly Osbourne, took a moment to warn her followers about the dangers of messing with burn piles. From Sid’s bedside, she said, “This is why you don’t f*** with burn piles. He literally set himself on fire, exploded everything.”
She looked visibly stressed by the situation. Kelly also posted a clip of their son playing with toys on the floor in the hospital next to his injured dad.
Sid Wilson’s fellow bandmates issued a statement saying that he still plans on joining them on tour. “Our brother Sid Wilson was in an accident today and sustained burns across his body,” the statement read. “He’s recovering with his family and will still join us on stage at Rocklahoma next weekend. He thanks everyone for the well wishes, and will see you all soon.”

According to the statement, he will be present for their performance next weekend in Oklahoma before they embark on a global tour.
