Christina Applegate Gives Friends Warning Before Going Out
Dead to Me actress Christina Applegate likes to give her friends this warning before going out with them. She does have MS (multiple sclerosis) and it can be draining on her body. Yet, she still enjoys going out and seeing those she loves. At the same time, she does let them know one thing in advance but what is it? Keep reading for more details.
Christina Applegate Gives Friends Warning Before Going Out
For years, Christina Applegate was known as ditzy party girl Kelly Bundy on Married…With Children. She was also in the smash hits Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead and Anchorman. Her career has spanned decades to Dead to Me but sadly, she was diagnosed with MS in 2021. This came after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 and dealt with a double mastectomy. She was just thirty-six at the time so then, to learn she had MS was another blow. Yet, she has been a champion and self-deprecating any chance she gets.
Christina also opened up about being asked to be on the Real Housewives. However, she declined because she knew that she was too boring for that life. Recently, she mentioned being on Below Deck so Bravo is in her blood. Despite having MS, Christina does like to go out though she is admittedly a homebody. According to E! News, she shared this on her podcast, MeSsy with Christina Applegate & Jamie-Lynn Sigler. Yet, when she does agree to go out, it comes with a warning:
“I just say to people, I hope you give me the grace of canceling right before.”
Now, this is not to be rude. It is solely because Christina has no idea how her body will be from minute to minute, day to day:
“I always say, ‘Sure, if you want to go to lunch, just know—and you have to know this and you can’t be mad at me—that if right before you come to pick me up, if I say, ‘Can’t do it,’ you can’t be mad.’ It’s my little disclaimer.”
The 52-year-old actress can have extremely sick bouts and that is not something she wants to subject anyone to. More so, it is not how she wants to go out feeling:
“If I’m puking, or I can’t walk, you think I’m going to go out to a restaurant or go do anything? No, I’m not going to do that.”

Compassion & Understanding
Those who have known Christina Applegate for a long time need to have compassion and understanding under the circumstances. It seems she is willing to make her best effort. However, she is doing the best that she can and that is all anyone can ever ask for. As for her body, MS has done a true number on Christina as she told Jamie Lynn Sigler who has had MS for over two decades:
“I have no muscles in my legs, which I showed you. I look like Humpty Dumpty, like my little tiny weird legs and then my big menopausal belly. Like if I go up a hill, my heart starts beating really fast and I think I’m going to have a heart attack because my heart’s just… the muscle isn’t there.”
She gives credit to Bravo for calming her down on her dark days. Reality television is a true escape for Christina and maybe it is better to be a spectator than a participant.
Are you impressed with how Christina is handling this and how she has the manners to warn her friends in advance? Could people learn from her and how she gets up and goes? Let us know in the comments below.
