Hoda Kotb Breaks Into Tears On ‘Today’, What Happened?
Hoda Kotb is back on The Today Show, and she just had an experience on the show where she was wiping away tears. That is because it was Hoda’s 60th birthday, and her co-hosts had a surprise for her. It all started with a video and then moved into something even more special.

Hoda Kotb Receives Birthday Surprise On The Today Show
It was Hoda Kotb’s 60th birthday, and her co-hosts at The Today Show had a big surprise for her. They presented her with a special video in which several of her close friends and acquaintances offered her special birthday wishes.
Among the people wishing her a happy birthday were Maria Shriver, Jane Lorenzini, Jennifer Miller, Jenna Bush Hager, and Karen Swensen. After this happened, all the people from the video came out and saw her in person to thank her for being their friend.
However, there was one more thing that really sent Hoda over the edge. Sandra Bullock sent her a message via video as well. This was even more special than the rest because of what Sandra meant to Hoda and her life.
Sandra Bullock Sends Personal Message To Hoda Kotb
“Hoda, Hoda Hoda, Hoda. I had so many brilliant and funny things prepared for you for this message that were just gonna slay, but you know, girl, I’m just too tired,” Sandra started. The actress also turned 60 this year and said she was tired because she had to climb that “terrain” first to let Hoda know what to expect.
Sandra then gave Hoda some good news about turning 60. “It’s weird because people seem to want us to be afraid of what it might look like when we get there,” she said. “It turns out, it’s pretty damn great. It’s pretty awesome.”
Several parts of the video ended up beeped out for television as Sandra had plenty to say, and Hoda laughed along with the tears. She said that when you get to their age, you can say whatever you want, and no one can say anything about it.
The reason this message was so important was because Hoda Kotb called Sandra Bullock one of the most important influences in her life. When Hoda realized she couldn’t have children, it devastated her. However, Sandra adopted her two kids, Louis and Laila, and that inspired Hoda, who adopted her daughters Haley and Hope.
“I’ve admired her, and she so shaped the pathway of my life,” Hoda said (via TODAY). “I feel like I adopted my kids because I saw that it was possible through her at our same age, and I realized, ‘Wow, it can be done.’”
