Miley Cyrus Has Had Ups And Downs In The Public Eye
Since making it big with Hannah Montana on Disney, Miley Cyrus has been in the public eye ever since. Cyrus was just 13 when the show made a splash, and she has been a household name since then. Of course, her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, has been a celeb in his own right. However, Hannah Montana put Miley on the map in an entirely new way.
Since being in the public eye, that has meant fans have had a front-row seat to all the good, bad, and ugly in Miley Cyrus’s life. She quite literally grew up with a camera in her face and fans screaming her name. All things considered, she has handled that rather well.
Disney Honors Cyrus With Major Award
On Sunday, August 11, Disney honored Miley Cyrus with a major award. The singer, now 31, was given the Disney Legends Award. This honor is reserved for only a select few individuals who have a significant impact on the company. Not only did Cyrus get this recognition, but, she is also the youngest person to ever receive it.
The tradition of giving out the Disney Legends Award started in 1987, and each year brings with it a new class of honorees who have earned that title. Some notable additions in the last few years include Christina Aguilera, James Earl Jones, Robert Downey Jr., Chadwick Boseman, Hans Zimmer, and more.
Now, Miley Cyrus can count herself among the greats who have been given this prestigious honor.
Hannah Montana Star Chokes Up While Giving Touching Speech
Miley Cyrus could not hold back the tears recently while accepting this major honor, and she had a lot to say about it as well.
Cyrus said: “A little bit of everything has changed, … but at the same time, nothing has changed at all. I stand here still proud to have been Hannah Montana.”
In tears, the celeb went on to add: “In so many ways, this award is dedicated to Hannah and all of her amazing loyal fans, and to everyone who has made my dream a reality. To quote the legend herself, ‘This is the life.'”

Miley Cyrus has been through a lot since those early days with Disney. It’s clear that, all these years later, she is grateful for the fans who helped boost her career into what it is today. Among her list of achievements, she can now add youngest Disney Legends recipient to her bag.
