‘Catfish’ Nev Schulman ‘Lucky To Be Alive’ After Bike Accident
Catfish creator and host, Nev Schulman is sharing that he is “lucky to be alive” after a horrific bike accident. The MTV personality is known for figuring out who is behind online profiles but what was behind this nightmare? Keep reading for more details on Nev’s accident and how he barely survived it.
Catfish Nev Schulman ‘Lucky To Be Alive’ After Bike Accident
Fans have come to love the stories that Nev Schulman and his co-host Kamie Crawford come across on Catfish. They get emails from people all across the country who are in interesting relationships. The couples have likely never met and only communicate via text or the Internet. Sometimes money is involved and it is up to Kamie and Nev to help whoever has contacted them find that special someone who has stolen their heart. It can end up as a sweet love story, one of revenge, or a complete disaster but either way, MTV has kept it going for nine seasons.
Nev is so brave when he is on the show, going to people’s doors he has never met, and has no problems with confrontation. However, he just faced a life-altering situation and it had nothing to do with Catfish. The father of three was recently in a bike accident and he is lucky to be alive. According to The Sun, it all went down on Monday, August 5th, 2024. He was off to grab his son from school but that never ended up happening. He detailed it all on his Instagram as well as shared images from the accident:
“I never made it to pick up my son from school on the bike. In fact in some ways, I’m glad I didn’t. I was alone on impact. Me and the truck. And then I guess the pavement. I was alone and unconscious. And then conscious. Maybe I was fine (I wasn’t). Maybe I can still do my long run on Thursday (I couldn’t). I broke my neck. C5 and C6 to be exact. Stable fractures. I’m not paralyzed.”
Nev added that his hands were questionable as they were unsure if he would have use of them again but luckily, they were fine. He went on to add:
“I’m lucky to be here, alive, standing and hugging my family, projected to make a full recovery.”

Nev Schulman also noted he understood if people did not want to see him beaten and broken. However, he hoped that they would read the story of what happened so they could understand the details. This is a man who is not just known for hosting Catfish but for his stint on DWTS so he can keep moving.
