Selma Blair Gives Fans Health Update Amid MS Battle
Legally Blonde actress Selma Blair has battled multiple sclerosis (MS) for several years. She formerly shared her condition with the world in 2018. Since then, she’s had many bad days, but many good ones as well.
Although MS inhibits many areas of Selma Blair’s life, she still has many goals and aspirations. She even competed in Dancing With The Stars Season 31 with pro dancer Sasha Farber. Sadly, Selma’s condition forced her to withdraw. But she and Sasha had a great run and finished in 12th place out of 16 couples before she bowed out.
Now, she wants to share a new health update with her fans. See what the actress shared in a new interview.
Selma Blair Changed Up Her Healthcare Regimine
Many fans enjoyed watching Selma Blair compete on DWTS Season 31. After leaving the show, she needed to focus on her personal health and well-being.
Although she often posts on Instagram, fans are curious about her health journey. Now, she’s giving an update. Fortunately, it seems that things are going quite well for her.
“Hi. So a lot of people have been asking me how I am doing so great and my movement is so much different, and I really am excited,” the 52-year-old told Us Weekly in a recent interview. “I want to let people know that — I’m still in remission, I’m feeling great — after the bone marrow transplant, I actually fell into a major relapse.”
After an MRI revealed her MS was flaring, Selma began looking for a new healthcare team.
“Thank God I found a great one here in West Hollywood, Dr. Berkovich,” she gushed over her new doctor, who recommended a new treatment plan. “It was just tablets. So I took that, a couple short series of tablets, and in two years your therapy is done. It’s called Mavenclad.”
Dancing With The Stars fans likely remember how Selma struggled to keep up in the rehearsal room. Thankfully, this new treatment helps alleviate some of the physical burdens she faces.

“It’s been amazing and it helped my movement and speech so much, and it’s allowed me to have a great summer, great years. I need you all to know. Bye,” she concluded the interview.
The Actress Stays On Top Of Her Condition
Selma Blair wants to seize every moment of joy she possibly can. But even so, she knows her limitations and monitors her condition as needed.
“It’s going to take years to feel better, but it’s OK,” the actress previously told Us Weekly. “You’re being lovingly guided and things will come in their time. You just have to keep showing up. One day you’ll feel better — and you’ll do an interview talking about how far you’ve come!”
