Plea Made To NFL For Taylor Swift To Headline Super Bowl

The Fox sportscasters started letting the NFL know their thoughts about Taylor Swift. While attending Fox NFL and college football seminar, Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson bumped into NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Since they had the up close and personal opportunity to make their case, they pushed for the NFL to consider Taylor as the main act. Admittedly, Erin says on the podcast, “Charissa and I did the best we could about delivering our opening and closing remarks about why the NFL has to have, this year, Taylor Swift as their Super Bowl halftime show.”

Begging Taylor Swift To Consider The Opportunity

Charissa Thompson says, “So Taylor, I know that you obviously have other things going on right now.” Furthermore, she begs, “But if you get this message, we would love for you to perform at the Super Bowl.” Undeniably, both Andrews and Thompson are supporters of Taylor and Travis Kelce’s relationship. Last year, they encouraged Taylor to take him up on his offer, saying, “Take us up on this. Go on a date with this guy.” And even the Tonight Show gave them credit for their assist in the relationship. Super Bowl LIX will air on Fox Sports from New Orleans in February 2025. While it is lining up to be a historic event if the Kansas City Chiefs make it back to defend their title, it would be crowned with Taylor as the showcased entertainment for the event. If the Chiefs win it will be their third consecutive championship.

Taylor Swift Has Previously Declined

Notably, Taylor Swift has turned down the opportunity in the past. However, Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson revel in the idea of her sharing the spotlight during this epic opportunity. “Selfishly, we want her, as you guys all know our affinity for Taylor, but we want it because it’s Fox’s Super Bowl,” Thompson comments. “But also on the heels of all the nonsense from last year, the Chads and dads that didn’t want her to be shown on television.” While they understand that Taylor doesn’t “need” to have a Super Bowl show, they don’t think that is the point.

Good For Business

Furthermore, Charissa Thompson believes it would be a great benefit for the NFL. “But, I don’t know, maybe bringing in not only the revenue but also the new audience of young women or girls and boys that didn’t watch but love her,” she adds. According to an external business consultant to the NFL, it would be very good for business if Taylor Swift agreed to perform. The source says, “The ads could reach a cost of $8.5 million each, an increase of $1 million, or more.” Further adding, “This year, it has been estimated that her presence helped generate a lot of money, estimated between $700-750 million.” Continuing, “If she is the main artist of next year’s halftime show, it’s expected to generate more than $1.3-1.5 billion.”

She Doesn’t Need It, But Does She Want It?

Even if Taylor Swift doesn’t need it, there is a huge opportunity waiting to be scooped up. Then, Charissa Thompson says, “But anyways, she’s never done it and there’s no bigger star in the world.” Charissa asserts, “Michael Jackson didn’t need to do the halftime Super Bowl performance but he did. Whitney Houston didn’t need to sing the national anthem, but she did.”

Calling out to Taylor to consider the idea, she adds, “I feel like Taylor, if you’re listening, your resume is full of everything. You have done it all. But don’t you want to also say that you have performed at a Super Bowl halftime?” Furthermore, sharing the ultimate dream, she says, “And if you have it your way and the Kansas City Chiefs have it their way, it’ll be at your boyfriend’s game, where they look to three-peat for the first time ever in the history of the league.”

Additionally, she is so excited about the legendary plan, “So it’d be a culmination of things that have never been done before. A three-peat if they win, and you performing at halftime.” Then, Erin references Taylor’s music, “I will be doing the Super Bowl with a broken heart if she doesn’t do halftime.” Then, she calls out to fans, “Swifties,” Andrews pleads, “you people have power out there, it’s time to manifest this thing.”

Dream Come True

When The Swifties for Eternity Instagram fan page heard the idea there was an explosion of excitement. Having Taylor Swift perform during the possible Cheifs’ game would be the ultimate starstruck crossover.

  • “Imagine her opening the SB halftime show with audio from people complaining about her being at the games.”
  • “The dads, Brads and Chads couldn’t handle it!”

Don’t Do It, Taylor Swift!

However, some fans of Taylor Swift want to protect her from the Chads, Brads, and dads. They urge her to stay away.

  • “While I’d love to see this, I don’t want it to happen,” one Swiftie says. “She gets tons of hate already. Can you imagine all of the boos from the Chads Brads and dads? And if the Chiefs are in the super bowl and they lose? Yeah that’s a nope for me. The amount of hate and bullying this woman gets will double.”
  • “Not while Travis could be going. So when he retires maybe.”
  • No! No! No! She will be just finishing her ginormous tour. She needs to [sleep].”
  • “She doesn’t need that. She turned them down several times.”
  • “She’s not doing it. Give the girl a break.”
