Johnny Gargano may enjoy the spotlight these days, along with everything that goes with that, however, the road to WWE superstardom was by no means easy for “Johnny Wrestling.” He is one of those guys who knows rejection and what the sting of that feels like.

Critics called Gargano too “small.” However, he didn’t let that stop him from chasing his dream of wrestling on the big stage.

According to his WWE bio on the official site, Johnny still keeps the rejection email from the organization after failing to make the cut during a tryout in 2015. Clearly, he used that as fuel to propel him to where he is today.

Tragedy Hit Close To Home For Superstar

Johnny Gargano recently broke the news to his hundreds of thousands of WWE fans on Twitter/X that his dad’s restaurant had a major fire. Along with a lengthy message to his followers addressing this recent tragedy, Gargano also included a pic with his update, revealing the damage in the aftermath.

Johnny Gargano wrote to his many followers, saying: “I figured I should touch on this because people are finding out, and I know a lot of wrestling fans were looking forward to going to my Dad’s restaurant when they were in Cleveland for Summerslam.”

Gargano continued his message, adding: “Last night, there was a fire, and my Dad’s restaurant was badly damaged. I’m grateful that my Dad was not there and is okay. He is 82 years old, this is his life’s work. He has worked in that building every day for almost 50 years. I basically grew up there.. and now it’s just gone. It is extremely heartbreaking for my family.”

While Gargano said that his father is okay, as he was not there at the time of the fire, this is a major loss for the entire family, as they pick up the pieces after such a devastating blow.
