‘Welcome To Plathville’ Ethan Plath Wants To Save Marriage
During the upcoming Welcome To Plathville episode, Ethan Plath talks with Olivia Plath about wanting to save the marriage. Both Ethan and Olivia have spent some time apart and are navigating the decisions of their relationship moving forward. Accordingly, they are sitting down to figure out how to proceed.
Olivia And Ethan Plath Can’t Find Common Ground
At the end of Welcome To Plathville Season 5, Olivia and Ethan Plath’s division on morals and values became apparent. As they began to discuss building a family together, it revealed future pitfalls that they both agreed wouldn’t be surmountable. Facing their differences, they decided that going their separate ways was the only option. But now, after time apart, Ethan is pleading for Olivia to find it in her heart to work through their differences.
Olivia And Ethan Plath Sit Down To Hash It Out
In a clip for the July 23 episode of Welcome To Plathville, Olivia and Ethan sit down to hash out how to proceed. Admittedly, Olivia says, “I don’t know how to just keep moving forward and living single lives and not file.” Then, Ethan explains, “But I didn’t want that.” Additionally, he discusses how he doesn’t want to end the marriage with Olivia. While they were talking, Olivia says she understands but isn’t entertaining the idea of staying. She says, “I’m sorry. I know this is hard. But I also personally think that just dragging it out will make it harder for a lot longer.”
Olivia Doesn’t Want To Try Any More
In a confessional interview, Olivia talks about her feelings on the matter. She says, “Being back around Ethan Plath makes me emotional because he’s not doing well at all.” Although she recognizes the pain in the situation, she isn’t budging. She says, “But I know that Ethan and I are not getting back together.” Sadly, for Olivia, the ship has sailed. She isn’t wanting to work on their marriage anymore. She adds, “I’ve moved on, I’m done, and I feel like Ethan’s indecision confirms my decision because the inconsistency that he’s showing in what he says he wants, what he does, how he changes his mind.”
Furthermore, she explains that she feels like Ethan Plath wasn’t consistent during their years together either. She says, “That played a huge role in our marriage of so many inconsistencies and feeling loved and then not feeling loved, and feeling supported and not feeling supported, and it was just like a roller coaster.”
Ethan Plath Wants To Save Marriage
At that point, Ethan Plath says, “I feel like you can move on so easily.” Then, he adds, “I don’t understand that.” Olivia Plath stares blankly and adds, “I don’t know if it’s necessarily moving on so easily, as much as it is, forcing myself to deal with everything.” She elaborates, “And feel it all and get to the other side.” But Ethan pleads for Olivia to reconsider. He asks, “Are you sure we can’t make this work?” She looks down, purses her lips, and shakes her head, “no” in silence.
Begging for Olivia to compromise to keep their marriage, Ethan offers another suggestion. He says, “Could we wait a few more months on the divorce just to see where we’re at?” Not willing to go that route, Olivia simply shakes her head “no” again. Afterward, Ethan drops his face to his hands and tears up with sadness over the finality of the discussion.
