Guns N’ Roses’ Slash Reveals Daughter’s Tragic Death, Cancels Gigs
Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash shared some devastating news with fans on Monday morning. A death in his family has left him heartbroken and forced the band to cancel multiple shows. Here is what was revealed.
Slash Shares Heartbreaking Loss Of His Stepdaughter
Slash, whose real name is Saul Hudson, took to social media on Monday to share the tragic news of his stepdaughter’s death. The 58-year-old rock-n-roll icon announced that Lucy-Bleu passed away “peacefully” on Friday.
The Guns N’ Roses guitarist wrote on Instagram, “Lucy-Bleu Knight (December 6, 1998), beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, the stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully in Los Angeles, CA on July 19, 2024.”
He continued, “Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul. The family asks for privacy at this time and requests that social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss.”
Lucy was only 25 years old. Slash dated Lucy’s mom, Meegan, for the first time in 1989. Then, they got back together in 2015.
Thousands of people flocked to the comments on Slash’s post to share their condolences with the Guns N’ Roses guitarist and his family.
Susan Holmes McKagan, who is the wife of Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, commented, “Words cannot express our deepest sympathy and condolences. love you all so much.”
Melissa Reese, the rock band’s keyboard player, wrote, “There are no words. Sending absolutely all of my love and hugs and condolences and support to you guys.”
Zakk Wylde’s (guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne) wife, Barbaranne Wylde, chimed in, “So Sorry Meegan and Slash. May God Bless and Keep Lucy Bleu Sending Love & Light Zakk & Barbaranne.”
Guns N’ Roses Cancels Four Dates On S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Tour
The Guns N’ Roses guitarist is taking some time away from the stage to deal with the loss and be there to support Lucy’s mother Meegan. In fact, the entire band is stepping away from the spotlight to give Slash the time to process the loss of his stepdaughter.
Twelve hours before Slash shared the news of his stepdaughter’s death, the band announced that there would be several canceled shows. Right now, Guns N’ Roses is in the middle of its S.E.R.P.E.N.T. tour. In an Instagram post, they shared that several performances would be canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

According to the post, the following concert dates will be canceled:
- July 22 – Cincinnati, OH – PNC Pavilion at Riverbend
- July 24 – Interlochen, MI – Interlochen Center for the Art
- July 25 – Huber Heights, OH – Rose Music Center
- July 27 – Windsor, ON – The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor
The tour will pick back up in Toronto on July 28, 2024. They assured fans that refunds will be available. “We love our fans and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused,” the post concluded.
