‘Big Brother’ Julie Chen Reveals When She’s Leaving Show
Julie Chen Moonves has been the Big Brother host since its debut in July 2000. That means she has been with the show for 24 years and remains synonymous with the hit reality gaming series. However, in a recent interview, she admitted that she thinks she will step down from her position as host.
Here is what Julie said about the possible end to her run on Big Brother.
Julie Chen Admits When She Will Leave Big Brother
Julie Chen Moonves was on Entertainment Tonight for an interview, and she was asked when she thought it would be time for her to hand in her clicker. The interviewer wondered if the end was near for Julie, and the host took a moment to explain her thought process on retirement from the reality TV show.
In the interview (via ETonline), Julie said what would have to happen for her to walk away from Big Brother. “I’m not stepping down from Big Brother until I see Phil Keoghan on Amazing Race or Jeff Probst blink. As long as those two dudes are hanging on, I’m like, I can hang with the best of that.”
Julie has been with Big Brother for 24 years and 26 seasons. Phil Keoghan has been on Amazing Race since its debut in 2001, which is 23 years and 36 seasons. Jeff Probst has been on Survivor since 2000, which is 24 years and 46 seasons.
Julie Chen Moonves Sharing Duties This Season?
The interview with Entertainment Tonight then went into detail about the fact that Julie Chen Moonves is not the only one in charge this season. She is sharing the duties with the AI that helped design the rooms and challenges this season.

While there are a lot of people with anti-AI sentiment, Julie mostly sees the entire situation with a sense of humor. She joked about people who fear AI and asked if it will “turn evil.” She said they just need to “crank it up a little bit” and all bets are off when it comes to what happens next.
Despite people who hate AI, it sounds like Big Brother plans to use it to its full abilities and chooses to have fun with it. This does present a lot of things that haven’t happened on the show before. In the end, though, Julie said its not just about the AI. She also says that she is “part of the twist” when the show premieres this season on CBS.
