Fans who miss Suits have been eagerly awaiting the news about the hopeful spinoff, Suits: L.A. However, the news was going to have to wait as the network hadn’t watched the filmed pilot and was waiting until July to actually watch it and make a decision.

The network has now watched the pilot and has revealed the fate of the possible sequel.

Is Suits: L.A. Coming Or Was It Canceled?

The NBC network executives wanted to wait until July to make their decision on a possible sequel to the hit series Suits. The executive hadn’t even watched it yet, even though the pilot finished filming months ago. However, the plan was to view it in July and decide if they thought it could work.

There is some good news. Executives liked what they saw and ordered it for a first season. The news came on July 19, with the network saying that the show is coming and it will be in the same universe as the first series, which became a huge hit on Netflix when it dropped on the streaming service.

However, it will not include the stars from the original series. Instead, it will move the action to Los Angeles and show entertainment lawyers. With that said, the lead is a very popular television actor.

Stephen Amell, who previously starred in the superhero series Arrow and the professional wrestling series Heels, will star in the lead role.

What Is Suits: L.A. About?

Stephen Amell stars in the new series as Ted Black, a “former federal prosecutor from New York” who “has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles.” However, his firm is struggling, and he has to make big decisions that might force him to change into something he has always held in contempt.

“Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives,” the synopsis reads. This includes The Walking Dead actor Josh McDermitt, who played Eugene on the zombie series.

McDermitt plays Stuart Lane, a co-founder of the firm Black Lane Law, and Black’s partner. Lex Scott Davis plays Erica Rollins, “a savvy and strong-willed rising star who works for Ted Black.”

“I’m very excited. It’s something very new and different for me — talky-talky, not punchy-punchy,” Amell said, referring to his previous roles (via PEOPLE).

There is no word on when the show will arrive. It can’t hit in the fall, but it could be a midseason addition, or it could end up on the summer schedule next year. There is also the possibility it won’t arrive until the 2025-26 television season.
