‘Family Feud’ Steve Harvey Knows The Limit For Raunchy Topics

Steve Harvey has become one of the most entertaining game show hosts on television. Family Feud has always included some raunchy and double-entendre questions, going back to Richard Dawson’s days on the show. However, Harvey’s comedic timing is perfect for those moments on the show.

However, there are some lines that he shouldn’t cross, and Harvey knows when to stop.

Steve Harvey Knows When To Pull Back On Family Feud

Family Feud offers fans and players many risque questions and answers on the show. Sometimes, the questions beg a person to answer in a dirty manner. Other times, the questions are sexual in nature. There are even other moments where the innocent questions try to get dirty (Plump Weiners when Hot Dogs was a better answer).

However, one source said that Steve Harvey knows exactly when not to cross the line when these questions and answers come up. “Family Feud is one of the small handful of game shows whose rerun episodes pull as many eyeballs as original shows do, and in the world of free-to-watch TV, that’s a license to print money,” the source said (via U.S. Sun).

This popularity is in large part due to the more silly, and often dirty-minded questions. What makes them even better is Steve Harvey playing off them with some of his more overblown reactions. According to the source, the network loves Harvey’s reactions and responses to the questions, all of which he reportedly improvises on the spot.

“It’s all part of the package,” they said. “He comes up with a lot of that stuff on the spot – but he’s playing to an audience he knows and trusts.” This is where his intelligence comes in. The audience trusts that he won’t go too far, and he pays off that trust by knowing what to do and say that is funny, but never too offensive.

Steve Harvey Offers Up His Own Funny Answers On Family Feud

A good example of Steve Harvey trusting his audience and paying off that trust came last week when a player gave a terrible answer in the game. The question was, “Name the first thing a guy wants after his girlfriend has dumped him?”

The man answered “a cigarette.” This confused Steve (and the fans who commented on it online). Steve landed over and re-read the question: “Travis, what’s the first thing a guy wants after his girlfriend has dumped him? Not humped him.” It was funny and sexual, but it was not close to being offensive.
