Steve Harvey Has Creative Freedom On Family Feud
It almost seems like Steve Harvey is as shocked as anyone else when a question quickly goes south. His reactions are often even better than the answers. This is even true when he seems genuinely shocked when the crazy answers end up on the board.
According to one inside source (via The U.S. Sun), Steve’s reactions and antics are “part of the package.” They say that “package” is a game show that pulls in as many eyes for reruns as original shows, making it one of the most profitable game shows on free television. It is also translated worldwide, and most of those shows use Steve Harvey’s performance as a template.
The source also says that Steve is not planning his “antics” when the questions and answers come up. The host apparently improvises his reactions based on the responses of the players. “He comes up with a lot of that stuff on the spot – but he’s playing to an audience he knows and trusts,” the source said.

Some fans feel the raunchy questions betray the show’s title of Family Feud. However, those fans are very confused since the show’s title is about two families battling each other in the game, and it has nothing to do with being a family show. It never, ever has.
The raunchy questions and double meanings might be getting more prevalent on the show, but these questions were even present when Richard Dawson was hosting the show. It is not new for Steve Harvey. However, what Steve does is make them even funnier thanks to his double takes and over-the-top reactions.
