Jonathon Knight Unhappy Over ‘Farmhouse Fixer: Camp Revamp’

Jonathon Knight

New Kids On The Block front man Jonathan Knight has been working with HGTV on a spin-off of his popular show Farmhouse Fixer. Jonathan has been doing the new project with his family and brother Jordan Knight (who is also his NKOTB bandmate). The spin-off, titled Farmhouse Fixer: Camp Revamp, follows Jonathan as he renovates a 12-acre, 10-cabin camp property in New Hampshire.

Summer Camp

Jonathan Knight grew up spending summers at his grandparent’s property on the lake. So this new project has captured his heart. He says that he originally took on the project for nostalgic reasons and wanted to create the same type of experience for other families. Farmhouse Fixer: Camp Revamp has been filled with many dramatic moments. Johnathan has run into many unexpected expenses, from having to redo the septic systems for all ten cabins, to having a tree fall down on one of the cabins. Johnathan and crew also ran into massive rodent infestations.

Despite the trials of the project, the cabins have been turning out beautifully. Each cabin has been refinished from top to bottom. Some of the cabins feature new kitchenettes and bathrooms. Each Cabin has a theme that the design teams have stuck to which makes each cabin a unique experience for visitors.  The camp was set to open summer of 2024 however construction delays and the NKOTB summer tour has made this a challenging goal to meet.

Camp update

During Episode 3 of Farmhouse Fixer: Camp Revamp Johnathan had a conversation with his brother Jordan about the status of the camp remodel project. Jordan pointed out to Jonathan that he needs to hire a general manager and a staff. He also needs to create a logo and a web site. Jordan also told his brother, “You gotta know that you can still make a profit: How much a night for each cabin can you charge? How many days a week do you think they’ll be filled?” A lot of work still needs to be done before the camp can open.

Johnathan Knight admitted to his brother that “I look like a real dumbass right now. I don’t know what I’ve spent to date… I think I’m in over my head.” He added, “I don’t even own a computer.” Johnathan is coming to terms with the fact that he was unable to get all ten cabins done for the 2024 summer season.

Johnathan said “Reality is, I’m not going to get 10 cabins done in such a short period of time. Sometimes you can’t be an overachiever. Sometimes you have to go at the pace that you’re going, and I’m okay with that. I can still open with three cabins, and at least I’ll have some money coming in while I work on finishing the rest.” Johnathan stated that  it is ” a very sad moment. Still very disappointed.”

Guest Arrivals

Fans have been eager to know when they can visit Jonathan Knights Camp. Recent HGTV Instagram posts have featured comments of fans asking when the cabins will be available for rental. One fan asked “Will you be renting out these cabins? Do you have a web site?” The website is something that Johnathan still needs to get on. Jonathan’s husband Harley Rodriguez replied to the commenter “will be rentals but not until the rest of the 7 cabins are completed.”

The final episode of Farmhouse Fixer: Camp Revamp aired on HGTV on Tuesday, July 9.
