Travis Kelce Turned Down Major Netflix Offer, Why?
Travis Kelce is one of the most well-known faces on the planet these days. So much so that he is even turning down major offers from streaming giants like Netflix. So, why did the Super Bowl champ and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend turn down the streaming service?
Travis Kelce Raising His Profile On And Off The Field
On the gridiron, Travis Kelce’s NFL career speaks for itself. Along with Patrick Mahomes, they have built a dynasty in Kansas City, winning three rings on the big stage since 2020. That alone is the type of sports career that anyone would envy, even others currently still in the league.
However, Travis Kelce is staking his claim off the field, too. His high-profile romance with music megastar Taylor Swift keeps the tabloids busy, as the pair give fans plenty to talk about. If that were not enough, Kelce has been making moves into the entertainment space as well.
Kelce Has Taken On Hosting Duties And More
Travis Kelce broke into the reality television space with his reality show from a few years ago, Catching Kelce. In addition to that, he also hosts a popular podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce, called New Heights.
If that were not enough, Travis Kelce also wrapped hosting duties on the upcoming Amazon Prime Video game show Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity? Kelce had to have coaches to get him ready for this new aspect of his life in the entertainment space.
It seems he did well enough that he may have other opportunities in the future to flex those muscles and dominate a completely new arena.
Travis Kelce Surprisingly Turned Down Streaming Giant Netflix, Why?
With as high as Kelce’s star continues to rise, he is turning down opportunities that most people would jump at. His quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, appeared in a Netflix documentary called Quarterback. After the success of that, Netflix wanted Travis Kelce to take part in the follow-up.
That follow-up is called Receiver, which will premiere on July 10 on the streaming platform. As one might expect, this program deals with those who play that position in the NFL at the highest level. However, despite Netflix wanting Travis Kelce to follow in the footsteps of his quarterback and film Receiver, Kelce had other plans.
According to the Super Bowl champ, he said recently: “After Pat did it, I did get asked about it. I don’t know, I’d rather just play ball, man. I’m already doing enough with the podcast and everything.”
Along with this, Kelce also went on to add: “I’m way over the reality sh**. I’m out on that sh**.”
It certainly seems that Travis Kelce is happy doing his own thing, and it’s clear that whatever he is doing has nothing to do with Netflix.
