Does ‘RHONJ’ Star Joe Benigno Have Prostate Cancer?
Real Housewives of New Jersey fans saw an emotional episode play out recently. Despite all of the drama unfolding on RHONJ constantly, things took a serious turn when Margaret Josephs’ husband, Joe Benigno, got bad news from the doctor. The results point to a possible cancer diagnosis. So, does Joe have prostate cancer? Here is what’s been revealed so far.

Joe Benigno is often known to be the comic relief on the Bravo show. However, his latest moments on screen have fans wondering what’s next for Joe and Margaret.
As everyone does from time to time, Joe went to the doctor and had some routine bloodwork done. The results showed that the RHONJ star’s prostate-specific antigen was higher than what is considered normal. After undergoing more tests at the urologist, the results were still not looking good.
In episode 9, viewers saw Margaret and Joe’s reactions to the news that he could possibly have prostate cancer. A clip of the interaction was shared on Instagram that showed the doctor giving the couple the less-than-happy news.
“There’s a chance, of course, that it’s prostate cancer,” the doctor said in the video before suggesting that Joe go in for an MRI and a biopsy.
RHONJ fans flooded the comment section with support for Marge and Joe.
“As a cancer survivor, I know exactly what they were feeling with that phone call. Wishing for positive outcome,” one person wrote.
“I was heartbroken to hear this news. My prayers are with you, Joe and Marge,” another fan commented. A third person wrote, “My husband has the same problem. They’re saying he’s fine. Very scary but caught early, he’ll be fine. Praying for you both.”
Others commented saying that it “broke their hearts” to see the clip and expressed love for Joe.
Does The RHONJ Star Have Cancer?
Viewers were left hanging at the end of Episode 9 and won’t find out what’s happened with Joe Benigno until later on in the season. That said, there are some clues that hint at what’s been going on with Joe’s health.
Filming for Season 14 happened between August and October of 2023. It was during that time when the RHONJ star would have received his results. Margaret’s social media accounts have not pointed to anything serious going on with Joe.
Last December, they took a trip to Rome and Joe appeared to be healthy, having a great time. They also shared a snapshot of themselves enjoying brunch in Palm Springs in January. Then, in March, Margaret shared that Joe was undergoing surgery for his cataracts. If he had cancer, the eye surgery would have been postponed.
That being said, RHONJ viewers will still have to wait for the official word on Joe’s health to be aired on the show.
