Nick Viall Reveals Why He Turned Down Reality Show About His Family
Nick Viall has appeared on quite a number of reality shows over the years. Viewers first met him as a contestant on Andi Dorfman‘s season of The Bachelorette. He was the runner-up and returned for Season 11 to pursue Kaitlyn Bristowe. Nick once again came up short in his quest for love, again coming in second place.
He went on to Bachelor In Paradise before being named the next Bachelor for Season 21. Nick Viall got engaged to Vanessa Grimaldi, but they broke up less than a year later.
TheĀ Dancing With The Stars alum began dating Natalie Joy a few years after his relationship with Vanessa ended. Nick and Natalie tied the knot in April after welcoming their first child together in February.
According to Nick, networks have approached him to star in a reality show centered around his family. Why did he say no?
Nick Viall Says No To Reality Show Featuring His Family
During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Nick Vaill shared his thoughts on the possibility of his daughter, River, being on a Bachelor Nation show someday.
In the same interview, he revealed that he turned down the chance to star in a reality show with his wife, Natalie, and their four-month-old daughter.
“I think to be a reality TV star, especially your Vanderpump [Rules] cast and your Housewives who are recurring people, you really have to open up and you have to talk about personal stuff. That’s not easy to do,” he said.
He added that fans can be intrusive. “I’m just way too protective of my family,” Nick Viall gave as a reason for turning the offer down.
Wants To Protect His Marriage
The former Bachelor is protective of his family, especially his marriage to Natalie Joy. Nick Viall hosts a podcast with a fair share of reality TV show stars as guests.
So, he knows exactly how many marriages have been ruined by reality TV, including Real Housewives star Kyle Richards.
“I’m not aware of many relationships on reality TV that have survived reality TV. You can’t have good reality TV without the drama, so I’m not interested in trying to introduce unnecessary drama into my relationship.”
Nick and Natalie’s marriage has come under scrutiny recently amid allegations of infidelity.
