Anna Cardwell Makes Mama June Laugh In Her Darkest Painful Hours
Even in her darkest, most painful hours, Anna Cardwell is able to make her mother, Mama June keel over in laughter. These last handful of Family Crisis episodes are really tugging at viewers’ heartstrings as Anna is in immense pain. Yet, she is still able to crack jokes, making it even harder to say goodbye. Anna Cardwell Makes Mama June Laugh In Her Darkest Painful Hours
When Anna Cardwell called her mother to come and take her to the hospital, something was not right. She had been in pain for a few days but did nothing about it. It was clear that she was not getting any better and decisions had to be made. Her daughters’ futures were in jeopardy, mainly her eldest, Kaitlyn. They knew that, in the event of her passing, her youngest, Kylee would go live with her father, Michael Cardwell. Anna had been married to him for a short time but that was set in stone.
Kaitlyn, however, did not have a relationship with her biological dad so her future needed to be decided. Mama June wanted custody and was ready to have Anna sign papers immediately. Anna felt that her husband, who she had been with since 2017, should be on the paperwork so that was a big debate. In any case, according to a preview from ET, Anna is still able to make June crack up no matter what condition she is in. They are sitting together when notices her mother’s toes.
Anna Cardwell notices Mama June’s toenails and she immediately is repulsed by them as they are obscenely long:
“Ew, you need to get your toes done.”
The twenty-nine-year-old has no problem laying it out on the lone for her mother. June admits that it has been two months since she had a pedicure and knows she needs to tend to them. Anna does not seem to care as she tells her mom this:
“That s**t is nasty.”
Despite the critique, it causes Mama June to break into a fit of laughter.
Most Precious Memories
Though this is not the kindest way to bond, Mama June and Anna Cardwell, who has to use oxygen, are having the best time. June even shares this in her confessional:
“This situation is horrible for all of us but we have to find a silver lining in everything and make those memories and laugh.”
She also adds that she is having the best time making these memories with her daughter despite the horrible circumstances. Even Anna’s sister, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson noted that she was being silly the day before she passed in early December 2023:
“She was cracking jokes the day before. She was cracking jokes. She was like, ‘Mama, you’re being too damn loud!’ And then she wanted a steak so bad. She knew for a fact that she wasn’t going to eat the steak, but she wanted the steak.”
