What Caused Jelly Roll Fans To Rage At CMA Fest?
Jelly Roll fans are livid following a recent CMA Fest 2024 broadcast. So, what happened with this situation that has so many of the singer’s fans up in arms?
CMA Fest 2024 Was A Big-Ticket Event
When it comes to big events in country music, CMA Fest 2024 was one of the biggest out there. Naturally, with all the technology available today, getting to watch all the biggest names in country music perform is no longer limited to only those who attended the event in person.
Some of the biggest names in the genre took the stage over several days, as this memorable event had so much packed into it that several days were needed to get the most out of it. Festivals are all the rage for concert-goers, and for fans of country music, CMA Fest 2024 was the one you wouldn’t want to miss.
ABC Brings CMA Fest 2024 To Audiences Everywhere
ABC recently decided to cash in on country music’s big event, making it available to watch for interested viewers who could not attend the festivities themselves. Bringing the event to television and making it available for country fans is a no-brainer. It’s a savvy business move that the network clearly hoped would pay off in a big way.
At the festivities this year, Jelly Roll and Ashley McBryde hosted a three-hour special for interested fans to catch a glimpse of everything that went down.
Jelly Roll even spoke candidly about what it meant to him to be able to host this huge event in his hometown, especially given everything he had to go through to get to this point in his career.
Jelly told American Songwriter: “Stepping onto the stage in front of 50,000 people to host CMA Fest at Nissan Stadium in my hometown of Nashville was indescribable. The magnitude of the moment really hit me, to be across the street from the juvenile detention center I was in and to now be onstage hosting – how do you describe being in the same exact place while being in a place that couldn’t be more different, at the same time.”
Country Fans Livid, Event Unwatchable?
While everything seemed set for a memorable CMA Fest 2024 viewing experience, due to technical difficulties, that turned out to not be the case. Fans took to social media platforms to express their disdain over not being able to enjoy the broadcast.
Many viewers said that they struggled to make out what host Jelly Roll said during the event. Others even said that the audio quality seemed “off” once performers took the stage.
One viewer said: “How come we can’t at all hear Jelly roll and Ashley McBryde when they talk except for the echo in the stadium? It’s been like that every time they talk.”

So, while this was a great idea by ABC, to give country music fans a chance to peek inside the comings and goings at CMA Fest 2024, it seems that this winning idea fell flat due to technical issues, making an otherwise great event a struggle to get through for most viewers.
