Is Paul Greene Returning As Dr. Carson Shepherd To ‘WCTH’ For Season 11 Finale?
On Wednesday, Hearties who still followed WCTH alum Paul Greene saw some posts on social media that have them buzzing. Could the actor who played Dr. Carson Shepherd be returning to the series? The Season 11 finale is on Sunday, and next month the cast and crew return to Vancouver to film Season 12. Could he be returning for any of this?

Paul Greene Shares WCTH Related Stories On Social Media
On Tuesday, Paul Greene went to Instagram Stories to share some previous WCTH-related video and a Home & Family interview. This sent a lot of Hearties buzzing on whether or not he could be returning for When Calls The Heart Season 11 finale entitled “Anything For Love.”
Paul has not been in the series for a couple of years. He did not return when his younger son was born. However, he did talk about the idea of his character Dr. Carson Shepherd returning to the Hallmark series. Speaking to TV Insider nearly two years ago, he shared it was up to “the gods” that his character would return to Hope Valley.
However, he did share that there were some discussions even then about the circumstances that would be ripe for the return of his character. Moreover, that discussion spanned a brief visit to returning as a resident.
There have been talks about some different approaches to completing that storyline or expanding that. That falls into the hands of the gods.

New Showrunner Bringing Back Old Characters
Recently, Erin Krakow and Kevin McGarry talked about WCTH bringing back some old characters to the series. Kevin piped in that this is something that new showrunner Lyndsay Sturman is bringing back old characters to Hope Valley. Therefore, it seems possible that Paul Greene could be an actor returning to the Hallmark series. Besides, there was an unresolved love interest between Dr. Carson Shepherd with Andrea Brooks’ character Dr. Faith Carter.
It also seems like a possibility that if Carson returned, maybe the new Governor’s plan will be to build a bigger Hope Valley hospital. Carson left the town because there were two doctors when there was only a need for one. Then again, Paul could just have been reminiscing. Maybe this was not a hint that he would be returning to the series.
One thing Hearties should expect is a cliffhanger at the end of Season 11. Could that be Carson’s return? Or could Paul Greene’s posts have to do with the upcoming filming of Season 12?
