Nostalgia for the good ole days is at an all-time high. The 1980s are currently having a moment in the spotlight thanks to actor Andrew McCarthy. He released a documentary about one of the most beloved moments in film history: the rash of teen-centric films in the mid-1980s.

Brats, which is now streaming on Hulu, dives into an article published in 1985 that dubbed a group of young actors as the “Brat Pack,” that generation’s version of the famous “Rat Pack” of the 1960s.

The “Brat Pack” included Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, and more. Andrew McCarthy was able to track down and speak to most of those about how the “Brat Pack” label affected their careers.

The article was published just weeks before several members of the supposed “Brat Pack” starred in the movie St. Elmo’s Fire. Well, it turns out that so did Joan Vassos!

She spilled to Entertainment Tonight that she can be spotted in the background of a scene involving Rob Lowe’s character, Billy. Joan had the role of an extra riding a bike in front of the fraternity house.

Despite rubbing elbows with Hollywood’s biggest stars of the decade, Joan Vassos decided not to pursue a career in acting.

Her Celebrity Crush

Joan Vassos gushed over Rob Lowe in the ET interview. “I love Rob Lowe. I think he’s so freaking handsome, and he’s funny, and he’s a great actor,” she said. But he’s not her only celebrity crush.

She revealed that she also has a crush on Yellowstone actor Kevin Costner, who is actually newly single. She described him as the “rugged, sexy guy.”
