Mike Wolfe has made it no secret that he has been out filming new episodes of American Pickers. He has posted photos along the way, teasing what fans can expect. With his latest social media post, he responded to a fan when asked about the show’s return.

Here is when Mike Wolfe claims that American Pickers should return to the HISTORY Channel for its next season.

Mike Wolfe Reveals When American Pickers Will Return

The last season of American Pickers saw its ratings plummet. Much of this came from Frank Fritz’s departure from the show and the controversy surrounding his treatment before his stroke. Another part is that the show has been on the air for 25 seasons, and it’s hard to get excited about anything new.

However, despite the low ratings, Mike signed an extension with HISTORY Channel to bring the show back for at least a few more seasons. This will start with Season 26, which Mike has been filming across the United States. In a recent Instagram post, Mike was walking toward an antique car and remarked on how hot it was.

In the comments, a fan asked when American Pickers would be back for Season 36. Mike responded to the comment and told the fan, “October I think.”

This is not unusual for the show. While American Pickers has been on for 25 seasons, that has only accounted for 14 years. Most years have featured two seasons for the show, although things have slowed since the pandemic. Before that, there were new seasons starting in October in the years 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2019.

Since the pandemic, there has only been one season a year, starting in January in the years 2021, 2022, and 2023, and also in December at the end of 2023. This will be the first year since 2019 that two seasons occurred in one calendar year.

American Pickers Needs A Rebound Season

While Mike Wolfe is promoting the new season of American Pickers, and he was brought back for multiple new seasons, the show needs to pick up from last year’s disappointing numbers.

In Season 25, not one single episode reached one million viewers. Two episodes broke 900,000 viewers, with the January 24 episode being the highest viewing total. The show dipped down to 774,000 on February 14 and finished with a low 785,000 viewers for its March 13 season finale.

Despite the low numbers, Mike Wolfe signed on for three more seasons of American Pickers. He continues to film the show with his brother Robbie. Danielle and Jersey Jon also remain in the cast. Frank Fritz continues to recover from his stroke.

  1. I love Pickers.

They were in my backyard earlier this year and totally missed out.

Glad it will continue. One of the few shows I watch.
