Early on Tuesday, June 18th, Justin Timberlake was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI). This occurred while he was in the Sag Harbor area of the Hamptons. The singer and member of the boy band, ‘NSYNC allegedly blew through a STOP sign and failed to stay on the right side of the road. When cops pulled him over, he proceeded to fail field sobriety tests. However, the husband of actress Jessica Biel and father of two stated that he had “one martini.” Sag Harbor Village police officer Michael Arkinson wrote that it was:
“ascertained that the defendant was operating said vehicle in an intoxicated condition in that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.”
Now, according to TMZ, they have video footage of Justin driving a short time before he was arrested. He is following his friends on the street in his BMW. Yet, this clip does not show anything out of the ordinary when he is driving. It was around half of a mile or so that Justin went through the STOP sign which led police to begin following him.

Justin Timberlake has some pretty good friends as they tried to stop the superstar from getting arrested. It was asked of the officer to give him a break but that clearly did not happen. He spent around nine hours at the jail before he was released. Justin will appear in court, virtually, on July 26th, 2024 and it is unclear what will happen next.

Some were shocked that they saw him handcuffed or that he now had a mugshot. In the end, this is no laughing matter and he is very lucky that he did not hurt himself or anyone around him. Time will tell how this will affect his career, musically, and the fact that he plays Branch in the beloved Trolls movies.
