DWTS fans are absolutely irate after events that unfolded during Music Video Night.

The night was intended to be fun and pay tribute to famous music videos throughout the ages. But many viewers think that the executive team wasn’t careful enough with the order of events.

In fact, several fans took to social media to vocalize their displeasure. What exactly happened?

DWTS fans think the show disrespected Britney Spears

During Music Video Night, Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix and Pasha Pashkov performed a Cha-cha-cha to “I’m a Slave 4 U” by Britney Spears. In the pre-recorded package, Ariana exclaimed how excited she was for a chance to honor Britney Spears.

The pair pulled off a nearly flawless performance and went on to receive high scores from judge for a total of 37/40 points. Overall, many fans agreed it was a great routine in the wake of Britney’s memoir. The Women in Me touched on many painful chapters of Britney’s life, including her relationship with pop singer Justin Timberlake. In the book, she claims she terminated her pregnancy at his request after discovering they were expecting.

And that’s precisely why many fans didn’t appreciate the order of events this week.

Immediately after Ariana and Pasha took the stage, Harry Jowsey and Rylee Arnold performed next. They performed a Jazz routine to “It’s Gonna Be Me” by NSYNC with Harry dressing as Justin Timberlake for the routine.

“Not them putting the NSYNC dance immediately after the Brisney dance,” one X user shared on the platform. Many other users echoed similar sentiments and felt that the move was entirely inappropriate.

The judges said the NSYNC routine was fun, but didn’t give it very high scores. Harry and Rylee walked away with a 24/40 for their jazz routine.

Although it was a small vindication, many DWTS fans thought it was only appropriate given recent events.

Fans also disagreed with the choice to cast Jamie Lynn Spears

Britney Spears’ younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears also competed on DWTS this season. Many fans disagreed with the casting choice after Britney said she wanted nothing to do with her family after the way they treated her. Jamie Lynn didn’t last long on the show and was eliminated during the second week.

Although Britney Spears continues to be incredibly popular, many DWTS fans just don’t believe she’s being appropriately honored on the series.

Do you agree with fans’ anger over the situation? Was Dancing With The Stars wrong to honor Justin Timberlake tonight, or do you think fans are making a mountain out of a molehill? Share your own thoughts and opinions in the comments.
