Justin Timberlake has been arrested in Long Island, New York. The pop star remains in police custody at this time at the Sag Harbor Police Department. News and details of the arrest broke early Tuesday morning. Here is what we know so far.
Justin Timberlake Arrested For DWI After Dinner With Friends
J.T. was arrested for driving while intoxicated after having dinner at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor. He was on his way to a friend’s house following dinner when he was pulled over by police.
A source shared details about Justin Timberlake’s arrest saying, “Nobody was hurt. He will be arraigned in about an hour.”
Representatives for the Sag Harbor Police Department are expected to release a statement regarding the incident later today.
Days before his arrest, Timberlake shared a beautiful tribute to his sons on Instagram. He shares two boys with his wife Jessica Biel, nine-year-old Silas, and three-year-old Phineas. In the post, he called his sons his “two greatest gifts.” Timberlake also thanked them for giving him his “biggest purpose.”
“I learn more about myself everyday just because you both chose me to be your Daddy,” the singer wrote in the caption. “I will always be there for you through your peaks and valleys… to lift you up and show you how high you can take this life and to pick you up when you fall. And, of course, to flood you with insufferable Dad-jokes all along the way. I love you both so much.”
He concluded the post writing, “Cheers to all the Dads out there Dad-ing! I salute you!”
Fans Are Disappointed With J.T.’s Actions
Fans have already started to flock to the comment section of his Instagram about his DWI arrest. “Busted for DWI in Sag Harbor?? No Bueno dude!!!” one person wrote.
On the Instagram post breaking the news of his arrest, others have weighed in on the situation as well. One commenter wrote, “Cry me a river,” referring to one of Justin Timberlake‘s hit songs. Many others expressed their disbelief at how irresponsible driving while intoxicated is and admonished the star for his actions.
The “Selfish” singer is currently on tour for his newest album, “Everything I Thought It Was.” The Forget Tomorrow World Tour is slated to hit Chicago next with shows scheduled for June 21 and June 22. After that, J.T. is expected to head to New York City to perform in Madison Square Garden on June 25 and June 26.
Update: Justine Timberlake has been released from jail June, 18th 2024 following his arraignment.
Additional tour dates in the United States continue through July 9. Then Justin Timberlake will be traveling overseas throughout the rest of the summer, with several tour dates in Europe. He will return to the U.S. on October 7 to perform in Brooklyn. The entire tour is scheduled to be over by December 20, 2024.
