Jack Wagner Convinced Ex To Work On ‘When Calls The Heart’
There have been multiple instances in the past where real-life romances have stemmed from When Calls The Heart. Erin Krakow and Ben Rosenbaum wound up together after meeting on the set of the Hallmark show, as did Kayla Wallace and Kevin McGarry. Jack Wagner, who stars in the show, convinced his ex-wife to work on When Calls The Heart at one point. Jack Wagner Has Had A Long Career On Television
On the show, Jack Wagner plays the role of Bill Avery. Avery is a forensic investigator and lawman who first arrived in Season 1. Throughout his time on When Calls The Heart, Bill Avery has become a crucial part of the community. He has been the town’s interim mayor and sheriff at different times. Now, he is helping Rosemary (portrayed by Pascale Hutton) find the person who shot Lucas (Chris McNally).
Before appearing on When Calls The Heart, Jack Wagner was a big name in soap operas. He played the role of Frisco Jones on General Hospital from 1994 until 2013. Wagner also appeared on The Bold & The Beautiful from 2003 to 2012 as the character Nick Marone. Fans might also recognize him as Dr. Peter Burns from Melrose Place and Mick Turner from the Hallmark series Wedding March.
If you’ve been following Jack Wagner since the beginning of his acting career, you might know that he met his former wife on the set of General Hospital. He was married to Kristina Wagner for 13 years before the couple finally called it quits.
That hasn’t stopped them from continuing to have a good relationship and even working together though. Their romance initially got started on the set of GH.
“Being thrown together on set in a romantic way, I think it was inevitable,” Kristina said in 2016. “I don’t know how you could avoid it.” She played Jack’s love interest on the soap opera, Felicia Cummings.
They first made their relationship public when Kristina got pregnant with their son, Peter Wagner, in 1990. Jack and Kristina got married three years later and had another son, Harrison, in 1994.
Kristina Wagner Appeared On When Calls The Heart Post Breakup
The pair initially broke up in 2001 but called their divorce off in 2004. However, less than two years later, Jack and Kristina Wagner went their separate ways, finalizing their divorce in 2006. Unlike many other couples who split, they have been able to remain on good terms. In fact, Kristina Wagner even agreed to guest star alongside Jack on When Calls The Heart in 2015.
She played the role of Bill Avery’s estranged wife on the Hallmark show. Jack Wagner said he played a role in convincing her to do it.
“Sure enough, I passed [the idea] by her, she started on the show and it’s just been fantastic,” he said at the time. “I know that the emotion and the real beauty that Kristina had on General Hospital, the chemistry our characters had, really builds through this season.”
Then he continued, “We’re very present parents and very good friends. It’s very unique. We still love each other very much.”
